Vomiting and blood

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have had nausea the last couple of weeks although in the last week and a half I've been sick at least once a day. The last few days it's been worse, particularly in the evenings/at night. Today I've been sick a number of times and just now was sick again but because I didn't have any food in my stomach it was just retching and acid and small amounts of blood came up. I've googled and can see that it's just caused by irritation to the esophagus and not serious but just needing a wee bit of support right now (DP is knocked out asleep and he's just come off a 2 week long/12hour a day block of working so don't want to wake him). It's not just the sickness but the constant burning/acid feeling in my throat that's horrible. Did anyone manage to find any miracle cures to help them with sickness during pregnancy?

Aww OP morning sickness (or any time day or night sickness it should be called) is horrible. I had it bad and was sick a lot of blood. Definitely speak to your doctor about it though for reassurance and they can give you sickness tablets. They personally don’t seem to work on me (pregnant or not) though. I swore by queasy drops (also called prego drops or pops). You can get them online. Very sour hard sweets. Also very sour chewits helped too. Also strangely fresh orange juice. I couldn’t keep water down but I could keep orange juice down. I literally lived off sour sweets and fresh orange juice for 16 weeks. X

I got sickness meds as was unable to cope with most my daily life

I bought sugar free lollipops so when I went out and about it would distract me from the feeling too.

Gaviscone can help with your burnt throat

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Had been feeling really horrible and down about it last night whilst also feeling really stupid about feeling like that because millions of women get pregnant and get morning sickness and just get on with things.
Have ordered some of those prego drops online and DP just went out to get me some sherbet lemons to sook on so hopefully that will help.
Will get some gaviscon as well, last night I was drinking cold milk (which I've not done since I was a kid) which helped a bit.

A prescription for proper anti nausea vomiting drugs from my GP made my pregnancy bearable. They are safe.

Massive hand hold from me.. I was like this, this time 13 years ago and I remember it well. It was a horrible time, and I was in and out of hospital for 8 weeks with Hyperemis Gravidarum. There are various antisickness drugs your GP can prescribe (although I’ve found that some won’t). Pregnancy Sickness Support is full of practical, emotional and legal advice.

Millions of people do not sail through pregnancy. I found it mostly bearable and tolerable at best. Please see your GP for some anti sickness medication.. it may not help at first, but there are a few to try.

Good luck x
