I read if you have a more alkaline diet then you're more likely to have a boy. However my diet has never changed and I have one of each.

rawalpindithelabrador · 12/02/2021 19:01

@Bells3032

Fyi gender selection ivf is not legal in the UK so if you wanted to do that you'd have to go abroad
IIRC it only is if you carry an X-linked disorder.
NorbertMeubles · 12/02/2021 19:02

It's 50/50. Accept that. And also whatever sex the baby is. Simple.

00deed1988 · 12/02/2021 19:02

The sex of the baby is determined by the male chromosomes so nothing for you to do. Although doubt there is anything he could do either. But would be nothing to do with ovulation ect as it is to do with the x or y chromosome from the male.

RunningFromInsanity · 12/02/2021 19:03

The ‘ovulation calculator’ app I use to track my periods/fertility window tells me which days are more likely to conceive a girl/boy.

No idea how reliable it is.

HollowTalk · 12/02/2021 19:04

Keep an eye on your ovulation and only have sex before that date. That and keep your fingers crossed Grin

I do no matter what and will love unconditionally all the same but no harm in researching a few theories it's all in good nature. It can't hurt can it especially if I don't mind regardless I'm just researching x

Your husband's sperm controls this, looks like he produces more girls.

Either gender selection at embryo or selective abortion, legalities depend on where you are. If you cannot do either then do not get pregnant again. And as your attitude appears to be either 'golden child' if it is a boy or disappointment if a girl, think very hard about whether you should have another.

You won't like this. I don't like the attitude that all that matters is genitalia.

Not at all.
RagzReturnsRebooted · 12/02/2021 19:05

I really wouldn't bother 'trying' for a certain sex, what a waste of time and energy. Also, if you're only having another child to try for one of a different sex then that's really sad.

murbblurb · 12/02/2021 19:05

To reinforce - nothing else will guarantee the genitals you want. Basic science.

Catwoman123 · 12/02/2021 19:08

I think people are being unfair to the op. She has 3 girls already so what's wrong with wanting a boy. She's also said she'd still be happy with a girl.

Ok for a start I love all my children the same they are my life.

If I had another I would love another boy but would honestly be equally as happy with a girl. My bond with my daughter and son are both different but I love them equally.

@Iamnotacerealkiller

You are less likely to have a boy as you get older I'm afraid. By the time the couples average age is 40 you are very much more likely to have a girl statistically about 65% I believe. Declining testosterone in the man is one theory.
I had three girls and then once I reached forty I had a boy.

I read an article that said that millionaires were more likely to produce boys. Probably not that helpful - but I found it very interesting! www.bbc.com/future/article/20161014-why-billionaires-have-more-sons

If there was any truth to the shettles method, all ivf babies would be the same sex, as the 'faster' swimmers would reach the egg first and fertilise it. Faster swimmers dont all have same sex chromosome, hence ivf produces males and females.

My ivf baby is a girl.

Icloud54 · 12/02/2021 19:27

You have 3 girls, nothing wrong with wanting a boy, ignore the negatives on here!

I have 3 boys, I really wanted number 3 to be a girl but he was a boy, was I disappointed? Yes! Do I love him any less? Absolutely not.
