Week 6 pregnancy and heavy bleeding

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else had experience of bleeding in early pregnancy? What happened in your experience if you don't mind sharing?

I just found out I was pregnant last week. I had sex yesterday for the first time since finding out and afterwards I had a tiny bit of pink spotting which I didn't think anything of. Today I woke up and was bleeding and I'm now bleeding red heavy blood today. Slight cramping but not really any pain. Spoke to the early pregnancy unit and they just said to monitor it - of it gets bad then go to a&e but if it settles wait and take another pregnancy test next week.

Just wondering if anyone is/has been in a similar situation? Feeling anxious and a bit down today.

@Plantbasedmama sorry to hear about the bleeding. Hope its calmed down. I was around 11wk pregnant when I went to the toilet and wiped away blood. It wasnt dripping but the next day it got heavier. The EPU should do some scans or maybe they dont feel necessary as its early.
Some women bleed and still have the baby, just depends on underlying issues. I hope the bleeding is nothing serious and it stops. All the best

I've been bleeding on and off since I tested positive at 12dpo. Had a scan at EPU this week (6.5weeks) and they found a subchorionic hematoma which explained the bleed. They didn't seem too concerned and said I only needed to go back if it got heavier or I had pain. I also may have a cervical ectropian which can cause bleeding in pregnancy too. My GP referred me and they saw me the next day. Hope all works out for you.

I'm still bleeding but not as heavy now, I'm just going to monitor it and hoping for the best.
