I bought some sheets for our Chicco next to me from Amazon-think it was 2 for £10 and I’m happy with the quality. There’s a big variety of colours so you have plenty of choice-I got the one with a white and pink sheet for our crib

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 10/05/2021 08:23

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE thanks for the hospital bag info - I’m starting to pick up a few bits this week - get it started - hopefully have it all ready by the time I’m 34/35 weeks so still plenty of time for me. How’s everyone feeling this week?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 09:31

Tired! My spd/pgp is ramping up which is not fun!

32+1!

Has anyone managed to by cow and gate starter packs recently? Seems there is a shortage due to an issue with an ingredient and i need some for my bag!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 10/05/2021 09:47

I’m starting to feel tired as I’m not sleeping well - have to do a million turns to turn from one side to the other!

I’ve not see the starter packs at all where o am!

Can’t believe you’re 32 weeks - your baby will be here before you know it!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 10:12

I know! I should really organise myself!

Sleep is hard here too, i will sleep better with a newborn! I know this from past experience! And i will be able to lie on my belly and be all comfy!

Luckyelephant1 · 10/05/2021 10:26

Turning over in bed is definitely a big ordeal at the moment! And I'm still pretty mobile generally and not that big but for some reason this movement is such a challenge 😂

Peaplant20 · 10/05/2021 10:37

Same here with the turning over! takes me ages to get to sleep as I seem to need to turn a thousand times before I can settle. @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I managed to get a cow and gate starter pack with my Tesco’s online delivery at the weekend. But I did notice some of the other brands were not available.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 10:42

@Peaplant20 tesco is still showing as unavailable for delivery here, i may leave it til later in the week and brave going in actual shops

Re sleep i can manage a couple of hours on one side and then wake in pain so need to turn, this continues all night, throw in three toilet trips too!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 10:44

Ive just thought of something handy to have which some of you might not know! Puppy training pads! Or kids bed training pads (puppy ones tend be cheaper) these are good post birth incase of any leaks in bed!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I’ve got some incos from work! They are amazing. Hoping to constantly have one attached to me to save the furniture! Someone also said a waterproof mattress protector is good to have too

PeanutButterFalcon · 10/05/2021 12:20

I’m sleeping the best I have all pregnancy. Gone from needing the toilet every hour to twice a night. Definitely can’t roll over though, it’s a task getting in and out the bed too

@PeanutButterFalcon @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I better get some! How many pairs of pjs/nighties are you taking to hospital? Also any idea what is better pjs or nighties?

I’m not too bad for needing a wee on the night yet - I just can’t get comfy on my side - I usually sleep on my back and I just toss and turn all night - very slowly toss and turn hahaha 🤣

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 14:17

🤣 we have a waterproof matress protector on ALWAYS anyway (you learn this when small people are constantly creeping into your bed)

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/05/2021 14:18

@TiredAlreadyOhDear i will just take one in my main bag and have more in the back up bag at home. All being well i hope to be released same day

Warrickdaviesasplates · 10/05/2021 14:57

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I'm planning on taking two nighties and a pair of pjs. That could be too many but last time when my waters went they went ALL over my only nightie and I ended up sleeping in my leggings and a flannel shirt.

I'm just thinking if I don't use them then it's no harm done but if I don't have enough I'll be annoyed.

mariebaby3 · 10/05/2021 15:07

I’m planning on taking 2 button up nighties , any more and I’ll ask DH to bring them along.

PeanutButterFalcon · 10/05/2021 17:40

I don’t wear a nighties usually so plan on taking pjs/lounge set and then one or two for giving birth in. Was going to use DH T-shirts but they seem to be shrinking

OP posts:
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 10/05/2021 19:13

I was thinking 2 pairs of each - but I’d really love it if I was able to go home ASAP from hospital ideally. I guess anything we don’t have I can ask someone to bring me - I might have a spare bag at home too just in case I’m in for longer then I can get my partner to bring it in for me if needed.

I don’t usually wear nighties either but didn’t know if they might be good for this situation - I’ve seen them on people’s list so just followed the trend haha
I ordered off boohoo maternity and just got two plain black nighties probs won’t wear them after but they were only £9each and had buttons on the front for feeding too if I manage it.

PeanutButterFalcon · 10/05/2021 20:36

@TiredAlreadyOhDear they’re the ones I have been looking at. I’ve not ordered any yet but they seem to be the cheapest I can find

OP posts:
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 10/05/2021 20:40

@PeanutButterFalcon they’ve arrived today - I’ve not put them on but they seem ok worth it for £9 like you say I just had a look for something dark and cheap so I’m not bothered if they get ruined. I was going to try a trip to Primark but I can’t bear the queues hahaha!

Sweetpea12 · 10/05/2021 21:53

Everyone is sounding so organised making this oh so real 😊 I got sorted with a pram and next to me at the weekend what a relief that was! And I’m now 30 weeks so starting to get in hospital stuff. I hope everyone is doing well :) can I ask a random question and slightly personal did anyone ever buy spritz for bits? Had advice from friends and seen online about using products after labour and I’m just curious if anyone tried anything like this or is there no point

I have survived 5 births without anything like that! But i haven't ever needed any stitches or anything either i suppose! One thing i will say is i have found what you drink in the early days can affect how stingy things can be when you go for a wee! Fizzy drinks were ouch for me

Foxglovesandlilacs · 11/05/2021 08:36

Like thatbasicsnowflake I’ve had lots of babies (7) without using that but I didn’t have stitches with any except my first.

I will say though that having stitches is a different ball game pain wise 😱 I remember wondering why everyone else on the post natal ward was walking around normally and I could barely walk ( or sit down!)... it was because I’d had stitches and they hadn’t, so I think it might come in handy should you have stitches.

It’s twenty quid at the end of the day so if you don't use it it’s not a massive deal!
