'birth supporter'

Hi, I've got my first scan next week and I can't figure out if my husband is allowed with me or not. The hospital Trust says a birth supporter is allowed but doesn't define what this is (this is a covid updated document from January), but my letter says come alone.
If I'm allowed, I'd really like to take my husband as I suffer from a lot of anxiety and we had complications in my last pragnancy so it would be good to have support if anything goes wrong. I can completely understand that an extra person isn't ideal in terms of covid though and don't want to turn up together if this isn't allowed.
Thanks!

Our trust asks you to come alone where possible but do allow 1 person to accompany you to scans and consultant apps. If in doubt just give them a call and ask for clarification.

You'd be better to ask your midwife or call up the scanning department.
My letter said alone but both midwife and scan department said you can have someone
