Fiat 500 + pram?

I've searched old threads but I thought it was worth making a new post as there wasn't too much to read.
Do any of you have a fiat 500 and if so what pram fits in your boot??

So far I know a bugaboo bee and the babyzen yoyo fit, but is that it?

I don't consider it fitting if you have to remove the wheels so those ones are useless.

Any of you have this problem?

I’ve read that the Cosatto Giggle 3 can fit into a Fiat 500 - not sure whether that’s with taking a wheel off though!

We have a fiat 500 as a second car. We don't use it for the buggy (we have a uppababy vista that would never fit!) but I would just warn you about the car seat. They fit but getting them in (both the actual car seat and getting the child in and out) and out is a nightmare. It's a tight squeeze even with the front seats tipped forwards and when they are newborn its quite daunting as we had to tip the car seat sideways to get them in. Maybe our car seat was big?! You also have to physically climb in the back seat to strap them in.

My egg stroller used to fit in my 500

MsMiaWallace · 12/02/2021 13:20

We got a Quinny Zapp to go in our Fiat 500.
I bloody loved that car.

We had a baby jogger city mini. We also had a maxi cosi car seat with isofix base for getting baby in and out. It was a bit clunky to get in and out but it did fit. It could clip onto the pram with adapters. The fiat 500 was our main car for the last 3 years. But I've just given in and got a bigger car as going on long trips was a faff. Still having a fiat 500 and a baby is more doable than people think.

I had a similar size car when mine were babies many moons ago - still have the car now.
I used to get them in and out via the boot. A lot easier then wrangling through car door spaces.
As soon as they walked I binned the pram off for most trips out as they would sooner walk

EvilPea · 12/02/2021 14:10

Oh I left the car seat in and took baby out. I didn’t bother with taking the seat in and out, they are heavy and clunky things especially with a baby in

@wimbler I'm just seeing how awkward it is for the carseat!! I know it will be annoying, I guess I just need to see how annoying it is once I'm actually trying to do it. We live in London and don't use the car regularly by any means so I'm hoping it won't be too much of an issue.

If we lived in a small town and were in and out of the car several times a day I might have to look at changing the car but for now I'm just going to see how we go.

Ohh I haven't come across this one mentioned yet! Thanks

@EvilPea Yeah I definitely think I will be putting the carseat in and never taking it out again! Interesting point about access though the boot, never would have thought of that.

I'm hoping it will be a bit awkward but doable as I don't use the car regularly. Probably once a month for a longer drive to the inlaws and then once a week or twice for a more local trip so at least I'm not trying to squeeze the baby and the pram in and out everyday.

I realise my post came across as basically saying get rid of the car and buy something else which I didn't mean at all! We use our fiat for the nursery run and it's perfectly fine. We also get the car seat and base in and out once a week so my mum can have it in hers. It's a nuisance yes, but not something that makes your life a misery by any means! If you're not using the car often you'll probably find it's not an issue at all! I drive everywhere so it would be annoying for me

luxxlisbon · 12/02/2021 15:42

@wimbler no not at all! To be honest my inlaws, mum and cousin who just had a baby are constantly telling us we will need a new car and if we used it more we know we probably would change it. It will be a bit of a struggle to figure out how to do it in such a tiny car and hopefully after that we will get used to it.

It is a complete luxury where we live, we mostly use it for the food shop, (which will probably be easier to get it delivered with a newborn anyway!) getting out of london and occasionally a further away park or something. Day to day we don't really need it, and trying to squeeze a pram in the boot will probably encourage us to walk even more now.

I’m due in June and have a fit 500 too. I went pram shopping last weekend and have decided on getting the Cybex Mios pram with luxe carrycot . The lady at the shop folded down the wheels and they fitted in my boot easily without removing any wheels. That was without the carrycot attached . If we do use my car I’ll probably be putting the car seat on to the wheels. Carrycot did look like it would probably fit in the boot too to be honest but I didn’t try it .

I’ve done a lot of research online and the Cybex Aton car seat and isofix base apparently also fit behind the passenger seat . Will be trying that out when the shops open again but definitely ordering the pram x

I've done extensive research on this and think you can only fit the following in:
Bugaboo bee
Cybex eezy s twist
Babyzen yoyo
Cosatto whoosh
Uppababy minu Jordan
Ergobaby metro
Egg

I had a bugaboo bee for my first, years ago and that was perfect for us. This time I've gone for the new micralite get go, which they assured me fits in a fiat 500 boot. It actually doesn't, you need to take off at least 1 wheel, but I like it too much to return it so I'll put up with the faff.
