Fundal Height, Growth Scan, Nervous

I'm a little confused with my measurements and midwife confused me even more, my measurements so far:

At my 20 week scan, all measuring at 20 weeks.
I had my first fundal height measurement at 28+1 weeks and measured above the line at 30cm, my bladder however was full. The next day at 28+2 weeks I had an appointment with a consultant (booked for something else) and she asked me to empty my bladder, she measured me at 26cm.

I wasn't concerned about either, although very different 1 day apart, the consultant felt my belly and said there doesn't seem to be any extra fluid.

I had a private 4d scan at 29 weeks and the sonographer said the baby weighed around 3lbs, again happy with that. She didn't mention seeing any extra fluid but not sure if private scans would pick that up.

Now at 30+4 weeks I had a different midwife carry out the routine fundal height measurment and at first she got 35cm then listened to heart beat and monitored movement all which were fine. She then measured again and got 33cm. My bladder again id say was semi full. She is sending me off for a growth scan tomorrow.

I'm a bit worried that at 30 weeks I'm measuring 35cm? Just need some reassurance, I'm scared I might have extra fluid although I have no other symptoms and hasn't been picked up before. My diabetes test also came back fine.

Can extra fluid just happen suddenly?

From my understanding that fundal weight is very old school.

I had a scan on a Thursday - they were happy baby wasn't small or big. The next day I had a midwife app and she measured me too small. It's literally measuring your bump. It's an indicator but logically not super reliable given how different we are. The scan is better (especially re fluid) but even that is all of the measurements put into a formula so it's not exact and you will read lots of forums with women saying they told me my baby was going to be x and it was y!

See the growth scan as a way to see baby again and if they are happy at the scan that's good enough.

As PP said its very old way of doing things really.
There isn't much accuracy in it as everyone is a different shape/size.

I'm 30 weeks but measuring 37. I'm having a growth scan in 10 days but I'm not worried. My midwife said measuring is rubbish & so inaccurate.

I had my growth scan the next day and everything was fine, just shows how off the tape measure can be!

@ZaraH1 great news! A friend just had the exact same experience. I'm beginning to wonder why they still use that fundal measurement seems to just cause more stress x
