Hey. I went hospital on Monday and was half cm dilated. It’s now Thursday and I have back ache and like a cramping pain in my stomach. I’m a first time mum so I’m confused if these are contractions. How fast can you dilate from half a cm. or am I going in labour ?? So confused. Please help

I had a sweep Wednesday (yesterday) and was 1 centimetre. I am currently having contractions 5-7 minutes apart.
They feel like (to me anyway) strong menstrual cramps along with pain in my lower back. Time them, and how long they are too. A couple of weeks ago I thought I was having contractions (came very 20 minutes but were lasting around 10/15 minutes) and it turns out they were Braxton hicks. If you move position BH are meant to go and contractions aren’t

Hi.thank you for replying x Yea I had a proper rough night last night I got super bad pain in my bottom and shorting pain in my bum. I’m getting cramps soo bad. I really don’t know who to do. On top of that I’m being sick :(

Give your maternity triage team a call OP, sickness might indicate that you are ill rather than labour and its very easy to get dehydrated. Better to be safe, and take advice from professionals!
