Perforation after manual vacuum aspiration(MVA) for miscarriage - help! Experiences? When can I TTC again??

I’ve been through a fairly traumatic time. I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks (2nd miscarriage), then underwent 2 medical managements, with retained products and then underwent an MVA. I had a lot of pain and bleeding after and went for a further scan - showing lots of free fluid so they think there might have been a perforation. They are monitoring, and gave me antibiotics. I’m exhausted and just want to have my body back so I can start thinking about the future. Has anyone any experience with this? Were you managed conservatively? How long until you began TTC again? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi there, I just noticed this reply- seems like a lifetime ago now but it was a terribly scary time and there really were no answers or certainty. There was a perforation in my uterus and I was advised to wait to try again for at least 3 months - which felt like a lifetime at the time especially as I was unsure if I would get pregnant again. I got pregnant the first month we tried after and it was a terribly stressful pregnancy where I was advised throughout that my uterus could rupture in labour etc. I really didn’t believe I would bring home a live baby. I did however. And since have had another miscarriage and another baby, who is currently 12 weeks old and lying beside me sleeping.

just wanted to update incase this helped you or anyone else reading these threads hoping for some positivity.

x
