8 WEEKS - Scan Tomorrow

Hi all

Going off my last period I should be 8 weeks tomorrow, due to recurrent miscarriages I’ve been given an early scan to see how things are progressing. Where I stay they don’t see you before 8 weeks so it’s been a long wait.

I’m really nervous, I’m expecting the worst so that I’m not heartbroken. I think I’ll be okay whatever happens. Wish me luck!

Anybody expected the worst and everything has been fine at the scan? My symptoms are questionable over the last week or so x

Yep, I had early scans due to recurrent miscarriages and always expected the worst and got myself really worked up. Currently 22 weeks pregnant after 5 miscarriages so it can happen. Fingers crossed for you! Try to relax as hard as it is.

FruitLoopzz · 11/02/2021 18:41

Thanks @37TTCLeeds did you have any at 8 weeks? x

I had 3 mmc. With my 4th pregnancy I had bleeding a couple of days before my first scan (7 weeks), i went in and told the sonographer I knew it was bad news so not to worry about telling me and she said er well there's a heartbeat here!
I had further bleeding on and off until 11 weeks, but now have a happy 21 month old.
I actually bled more with my successful pregnancy than I did with the 3 miscarriages, so you just never know!
Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your losses @FruitLoopzz.

Its extremely difficult, nerve wracking and anxiety inducing waiting for an early scan, especially post previous losses.

I had a 7 week scan a couple of weeks ago, expected the worse as had a miscarriage in the summer just gone, but all was OK. The nurses were lovely and reassuring, helped to settle my nerves (I really felt like I was on the verge of having a panic attack).

Remember to breathe and to be kind to yourself, one step and one day at a time. Good luck xx

@plixy - sorry to hear about your losses. If you don’t mind me asking did you have any pregnancy symptoms with your MMCs?

@33IBLDN - sorry to hear about your loss, I’m mentally ready tomorrow for whatever the outcome is. I’m not feeling strong symptoms so I’m not going in with confidence

I had sore boobs and nausea but not nearly as strong as I did with my successful pregnancy. But my sickness didn't really kick in until about 8-9 weeks.

37TTCLeeds · 11/02/2021 19:01

@FruitLoopzz I had them at 6, 10 and an extra one at 11 weeks. Then dropped onto normal 12 and 20 weeks but had a private one at 16 weeks.

Currently in the waiting room, appointment is at 15:30. I’m more nervous than I thought I was, in fact I’m terrified. Being in this hospital has made me realise I might actually see a healthy foetus or bad news x

@octoberfarm thank you I am sweating with nerves. I said yesterday I’d be okay regardless but now I realise I’m terrified x
