Hi

Where do you begin to look for what bottles to buy? I know I want anti colic just Incase but what else is important. My microwave is quite small so need to get a new one of those to take a steriliser.

Love the Mam bottles. We started with dr browns which were fine but daffy to clean. We then got Mam as we were going to stay with a friend for a few days and it meant not taking a separate steriliser,

For DS2 we have just got Mam. I have got their microwave steriliser as DS 2 is only a few weeks old so it's easier to wash loads of bottles in the morning and throw loads in the steraliser. But it's also nice to be able to Chuck the bottle on its own in the microwave too. Also check out the munchkin sterlising pouches that you can just Chuck in a small microwave

Thanks for the advice about boots I’ll do that, I seen mam ones with little bears but they only seem to be on Amazon and it’s your pot luck wether you get blue or green. Does the design/character change on the bottles or do I just need to search harder.

We used Tommee Tippee for DD1 and now for DD2. We’ve got their anti colic ones which seem good. TT also do powder pots that fit inside a bottle to hold a portion of formula. Very useful for being out and about and at night when DH and I don’t want to get out of bed.

We have a Mothercare steriliser that’s we’ve had since DD1 was a baby and it’s good. Just load it up with clean bottles, add a small amount of water in the bottom and turn it on. I can fit 4 bottles, some pots and dummies all at the same time.

This is the steriliser we have.

I got Avent botties & tried microwave steriliser but found it was easier to have huge Tupperware tub & fill fresh every day with water & a Milton tablet. Then I would wash botties by hand and put them straight into steriliser.

I bought a whole set of tommee tippee bottles and son ended uo with bad colic. We ended up trying mam, tommee tippee and dr browns colic bottles. We found dr browns workes best and stuck with them, they are a nightmare to clean tho, so many wee crevices for milk to get stuck. They worked tho def made baby far less windy and uncomfy, so was worth it. Had an electric steriliser so microwave wasnt a worry. This time round we have bought 3 dr browns bottles and thats it incase they dont suit this baby. If it goes well we will buy a kit probably.

John lewis sell mam sets in lots of different colours. We have grey bottles at home. The big tescos sell them in packs of 2 as well near me.

Asda & boots sell the different colours and often have 20% off. They often do big packs of 6-8 bottles with dummies and we normally have 12-15 bottles on the go at any time but we have 2 babies under 14 month so I don't get as much time to wash & sterilise as I did with just the 1. You probably only need 4 bottles but would be v comfortable with 6-8 as you'd have a full 24h worth.

For those who use the cold water steriliser do you need to wear gloves to remove the bottles, is the sterile solution bad for your hands?

I don't use gloves with the cold water steriliser. I do get through a fair amount of hand cream at the moment but I don't think it's the miltons it's the constant hand washing!

Thanks you :)
