Hi

I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant following a MC in the summer and iv just found out I have a tumour in my bowel and it's expected to be bowel/colon cancer. Waiting on biopsy results but been scheduled for a CT to check for spread.

Anyone else in a similar position?

@Cornflake24 sending you a handhold and strength. Not a personal experience and not sure how relevant but a friend found a lump at 10 weeks pregnant last year. She had a mastectomy and chemo whilst pregnant. Baby was born 8 weeks early but is doing well. She is due to start radiotherapy soon. It hasn't been easy but she has managed to pull through. I hope all goes well with your appointment.xxx

@Cornflake24 I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve had blood in my stool before I was pregnant and the whole time I was pregnant, now after birth I still have it, but the colorectal surgeon won’t see me due to Covid, it’s been a year. They don’t even care. I hope your biopsy results at end negative. What were your symptoms?

Cornflake24 · 10/02/2021 16:03

@Jazzy1990 my only symptom was blood in my stools, first noticed it in Aug last year, got hemaroid cream which didn't work so my GP got me in for a physical inspection and looked at pictures I had taken and I had to send away stool samples and they came back as elevated which is why I got colonoscopy.

If I hadn't taken pictures they wouldn't have done the stool samples so maybe do that and go to GP for a referral instead?

@Cornflake24 I have already been referred to the hospital but they’re not doing anything due to covid. I’ve just had a baby so I’m always in pain in that area :( how much blood did you lose ? I did a stool test that was elevated too. How old are you? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m praying it’s not cancer for you!

@Jazzy1990 iv just turned 32 in Dec and have no family history. The hospital were so quick with me, I got reffered mid December and had a colonoscopy lined up by Jan, it got cancelled as they didn't realise I was pregnant and rescheduled to yesterday, there were 6 of us getting them same day. I'd keep the pressure on them seems very odd they aren't acting, I had to do a covid test before I went in.

Were you recommended to gastroenterology?

I don’t understand why they’re being like this with me. I have a telephone consultantation mid April, I hope they do something then. I’m so worried and scared and also have a newborn to worry about.
