Forcep mark not going !?

My daughter had two red lines running through the left side of her face due to forceps. I was told they will go away within two days unfortunately that mark now has become dark. Looks like they pinched her skin and it’s become a scar. Anyone have any experience and how long does it take to go? She’s 6 weeks.

My son still has a mark on his face at 10 weeks although it was never this dark and it is gradually fading. Maybe ask the GP if you're worried?

Gently massaging in an oil, sweet almond oil for example is very good, will help to fade the scar. Their skin is so delicate and marks so easily, but equally heals quickly too. My daughter had a big cut by her eye and massaging it in twice a day helped it to heal and fade quickly.

@EithneBlue I honestly did think it was gonna go but when it turned dark I realized they pinched her skin with the forcep, my poor baby, I’m guessing this mark is gonna take many months to fade. :(

@HighInTheHills massaging with oil and putting Vaseline on it. Looks as dark as it did on the first week. People keep going is it a birthmark I’m like no it’s a forcep mark.
