Scottish Mums Third Trimester

Hi all,

I was on here(specifically the Scottish Mamas thread) during my first trimester but the majority of those lovely ladies went and joined a Facebook group - which I don’t have.

So thought I’d make a new one in case anyone is at the same point as me(or just anyone at any stage really) wants to chat.

I’m 28 weeks today and really starting to get the fear as I know this is now the last stage. I’ve had every symptoms of pregnancy you can imagine. Weeks 5-15 I could barely get out of bed for nausea and sickness. Weeks 15-18 were bliss, no symptoms, my appetite came back, no back pain, no nothing. Week 18 till now, my hips, back, heartburn you name it!

But here we are at week 28 and it’s all getting real now that in less than 3 months I’ll have this wee human to look after 😲 lol.

Hello! I'm based in Glasgow and 34 weeks pregnant, getting really nervous but glad the end is in sight, so uncomfortable now!

HappierTimesAhead · 09/02/2021 15:09

Hello, I am 31 weeks and feeling very big and uncomfortable! This is my second and she is so much wriggly than my first. She wakes me up in the night with all the kicking! It's uncomfortable but exciting! It's all getting very real nowGrin

Hey ladies - I’m so jealous you both are so close to the end. 🤣

I think once I hit the 30’s I’ll feel the end is in sight!

For me the biggest struggle is not being able to sleep on my back, my sides are killing me. I keep waking on my back and panicking thinking “oh crap, is she okay” then I roll over and feel her kicking away.

I had really bad hip pain and pelvic pain the last time and it's awfulSad I also keep waking up on my back! I think I do it unconciously because sleeping on my side is getting so uncomfortable. It's also such a hassle trying to roll over with the bump and pregnancy pillow!
I am in Edinburgh and we have got lots of snow today!

@HappierTimesAhead

This is my first so I really didn’t know what to expect - no one tells you that pregnancy can leave you feeling like an old woman lol! Sore hips, sore tailbone, sciatica! It’s endless, I just hope it all goes away after birth!

I’m in Ayrshire and we have hardly had any, just a light dusting that has more or less melted away. But my colleagues in Glasgow have been sending me pictures and I can’t believe the difference in weather.

@Analysethat

The pregnancy symptoms are wild and never-ending right?! If you type any symptom into Google and follow it with pregnancy then you will get loads of results saying '*** is common in pregnancy'! The good news is that is does all pretty much disappear after the birth although then there are new challenges.....! It's all worth it although I found that hard to imagine when I was pregnant with my first Biscuit

First pregnancy here too, I tend to feel fine during the day but in the evening I can barely get off the couch or have constant pelvic pain like I’ve pulled a muscle! Have you guys experienced lack of sleep? I’m so tired during the day but wide awake at night, probably down to baby being so active that it’s hard to get comfy but I feel like a zombie today! Definitely preparing me for the sleepless nights ahead when she’s here!
