Hi im 37 weeks pregnant and as far as i understood if you are breastfeeding you dont need to give your baby anything else like water as they are getting everything they need from that. But someone told me the other day that you have to give your baby water to

if its extremely hot some people like to give water but its fairly uneccessary

Your baby won't need anything else if s/he is breastfed. Some people say to give cooled, boiled water if, say, it's really hot (in the Summer, won't be a problem for you!) but I breastfed both mine and I didn't bother giving water.

i never did.
some people do, but I personally found that it was those people who bottle fed thier babies and that's different.
you'd need to make sure the baby gets some (no matter how small amount) sterilised water if ill, not breastfeeding, with temperature etc, but by then you'd have been advised by the doctor on what to do exactly.

I never gave either of mine water before 6 months either.
