I'm almost 6 weeks but have had also nausea and I'm phobic of vomiting! My GP has prescribed Cyclizine. Does this prevent vomiting?

It did for me. I had it when I had morning sickness and couldn’t keep my medication down for a different condition. Life savers!

Did it actually stop you from vomiting and did you take it every day? I'm scared to take it too often in case I become tolerant to it and it stops working Blush

Did nothing for me. I took it three times a day for four weeks from 7-11 weeks pregnant and didn’t see any difference in how often I was sick so I didn’t ask for any more when it ran out.

Same here, didn't work at all for me. I had a cocktail of metaclopramide and ondansetron but that was after a fair few tries of everything else going

bookishtartlet · 08/02/2021 23:14

Worked really well for me. Take it first thing in the morning and try to eat something, anything!

HardcoreParkour · 08/02/2021 23:51

Did nothing for me either.

It felt amazing for me- all my nausea went anyway.

mariebaby3 · 09/02/2021 18:40

It worked great for me. I still threw up every now and then but I was from 4-6 times a day to 3-4 times a week. I found it best if I take it at the same time every day.

justchecking1 · 09/02/2021 18:41

You may not need it if it's just nausea.
Many people have quite extreme famed kings of nausea but never actually vomit

Cyclazine didn't help me, I had it by injections in hospital, but it made me feel quite agitated so they get me a mix of metaclopramide, buccastem and phenghan. I think I tried some others on the way as well.

Give it a go, if it doesn't help you, then there are other drugs you can try.

My experience was that the drugs did help reduce the vomiting, but nothing stopped the nausea.

It stopped me vomming.

However it also gave me all day dizziness and double vision and extreme lethargy. So on balance it wasn’t really for me.

Metoclopromide was much better.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 09/02/2021 18:44

Cyclizine made me vomit less often, once a day rather than multiple times.

MoreRainbowsPlease · 09/02/2021 18:44

Sorry I should have said I was admitted to hospital because I was vomiting 20+ times a day and couldn't keep anything down. I was severly dyhydrated, to the point of hallucinating and they were concerned about blood clots. So they might work much better if you aren't so severely affected in the first place.

PutOnAHappyFace · 09/02/2021 18:46

I found some days it stopped the vomitting and others it didn't. I was on it from 6 weeks but once I reached 9 weeks it barely took the edge off. I also found it took a few days to kick in so don't be shocked if you don't feel massively better straight away.

BikeRunSki · 09/02/2021 18:47

Cyclizine tablets didn’t do a lot for me in either pg.
IV cyclizine in hospital stopped me vomiting, but also largely knocked me out and was rather trippy.
Metroclopromide became my drug of choice after a lot of trial and error.
