Hi Pandagirl, how many weeks pregnant are you?

I used to get dizzy from getting up to quickly in the early months but that was because I couldn't keep anything down and so blood sugar level was low, in the latter months I couldn't get up quickly anymore and I ate for Britain so dizzy spells went!

If you're worried I'd contact your GP just to check.

I had my first dizzy spell the first week of pregnancy, It is the reason I thought I might be coupled with this huge boobs which were too big for PMs. I have found I am dizzy but when I started drinking more this helped as I was a bit dehydrated as my midwife says the baby steals everything. Also my driniing more seemed the lessen the headaches. I am still quite dizzy but far less and have no headaches. Have you checked you are drinking enough? Speak to your midwife too.

Oh sorry forgot to mention, make sure they check your blood pressure as this changing from sitting to standing position and can cause faint feelings. I have always had a low blood pressure which is why I have had quite a few dizzy spells. Talk to the dr I am sure it can be a little better. As I said I was aware that I wasn't drinking enough and this with my lower blood pressure made me quite faint.

Had dizziness and being lightheaded with all 3 pregnancies - mainly because I have quite low BP. Also was hungry all the time so if blood sugar got a bit low I was dizzy.

Later on, you may feel dizzy and a bit out of breath just because your blood volume increases and the heart has to work much harder to push it round the body.

At 8 weeks when I was PG with Ds2 I fainted in barclays bank after having a whopper of a dizzy spell.

My blood pressure goes through the floor(like 70/40) when I'm PG so that's why I fainted.

I fainted when I was in Debenhamsa t 16 weeks. They called an ambulance and when I got checked out at hospital I had low blood sugar and low blood pressure. BP stayed low throughout pg so I took extra care when standing up (go slowly!) and made sure I ate and drank regularly. Thankfully it was the first and only time it happened. If I were you I'd get my BP checked. It's more of a worry if bp is too high so don't worry about it. I think dizziness is quite normal in pg

thanks for the advice. the doctor took my b/p on fri and said it was fine not got a appointment with midwife untill the 17th. but i will get and drink more it may help not felt too bad the last few days, not been sleeping very well so perhaps it was lack of sleep too.
