Trapped wind - sooo painful!

I’m 32+5 and I’m suffering terribly with trapped wind. It’s making my bump feel rock solid and I’m in so much pain around the sides. It seems to be trapped the side baby tends to lie on too which makes it more painful with movements etc. Even climbing the stairs is a struggle because when I left my leg up it adds pressure to the part of my bump that’s got the trapped wind.

Has anyone got any advice on how to relieve it? I’ve spent much of today rocking on all fours with no luck!

Peppermint oil capsules or peppermint tea help with wind and should be safe to take in pregnancy

Are you certain it's trapped wind? If so, as PP said, peppermint tea can really help, rocking on the toilet/all fours or sometimes lying in bed and slowly changing positions can help it work it's way out. But perhaps it's worth checking with your midwife if there's any possibility it's more than just wind?

I would definitely mention to midwife... I don't think wind should make bump rock solid but Braxton Hicks can

@HippyChickMama thank you I’ll give that a go!

@FallenSky @LauraT94 I did wonder whether it was more than just trapped wind because the pain is so much more awful than any trapped wind I’ve had before. It seems to radiate itself down the side of my bump to my hips. I had a midwife appt today’s and everything was fine so I felt a bit silly mentioning it as at the time I thought it was just wind but as the day has gone on it’s getting more and more uncomfortable. Hopefully I get some relief tonight and I’ll speak to her tomorrow if not.

I have been getting braxton hicks a lot lately and they cause a bit of pressure down below but they’re not painful so I’m not worried it’s just another pregnancy ailment that makes me wish I could close my eyes and wake up on my due date!
