Worried about preterm labour

Hi everyone. So I'm 34+3 weeks and last night I had been getting some period type cramps very mildly which were coming and going. I also keep getting twinges all over my bump but I'm not sure whether to put it all down to trapped wind lol (glamorous). I also keep getting tightness every time I sand up at the top of my bump and a stretching pain on my right side above my belly button as if I've torn a muscle. I was thinking braxton hicks but I'm not really sure I've felt them yet. Sometimes I think its BH but it feels like baby has shoved his entire body up against me.

Oh and my coccyx are hurting me to sit down as if I've fallen on something hard. I have back ache but I've had that since 25 weeks!! Other than this baby seems to be fine as he's wriggling about and hiccuping as usual!

What are your thoughts?

I’d call pregnancy assessment unit , they’ll ask you what you’re experiencing, and will ask you to go in for monitoring if they feel necessary .
If I’m doubt , get checked out :) I had this with my pregnancy (DD is almost 6 months now), and went in to be checked . All was fine but , it’s always good to get assessed if need be.

I would call triage and most likely go and get checked. I had braxton hicks from quite early on but went and got checked as it wasn’t clear at one point what they were and they said that if you’re wondering then always to call

Sounds like BH and round ligament pain. The hospital can do a test to see if you are likely to go into labour within the next fortnight although you might be too far along now for that (I can’t remember the cut off for the test).

The hospital will be happy to check you over. I’m guessing this is your first baby because once you’ve been in labour, there is no mistaking it in subsequent pregnancies.

Hi @Phie04 I’m 35 weeks and have the same. I’ve put it down to BH but they are different sorts of pains, like period pain rather than bump tightening.

I had the test 2 weeks ago that @BlueTimes mentioned, I don’t know if there’s a cut off point for the test but if you were in early labour they’d be unlikely to try and stop it. I was having quite regular BH for about 3 days which is why I was tested.

Every time I go to the loo I feel like my waters are going to break and I can’t get comfy anywhere!

If you’re worried I’d call for monitoring. Xx
