HARD BUMP- HEAD OR BOTTOM??

Hey all I'm currently 29 weeks exactly and have noticed either one side of my tummy is hard and lumpy. I can visibly see the lump since a few weeks when the baby is turning and rumbling away 😅

I can't figure out if it's the baby's head or bottom part of his body. Usually when I give my belly a poke or a nudge he moves away elsewhere lol... feel quite bad as I think it's his favourite spot (either side of my belly button) but it is freakishly odd and strange to look at 😂
I get these weird pulling sensation too!!

Any ladies who are experiencing the same? Or something similar?

Let me know xxx

Me! But dont know if it's head or bottom....

Oh me too! Always the right side of my belly button, it looks so weird 🙈 my friend told me it’s most likely a back but my initial thought was head... would love to know!

Yep! I’m 29+4 weeks and getting exactly the same! Also don’t know if it’s head or bottom! I’ve described it as a kind of tingling feeling, but pulling sensation sounds about right too.

I have a lump on my left that feels more like a head, because there's definitely more small jabs on the right lower down which would be feet/hands. I'm not certain but it feels that way for me! Do you get kicks anywhere in particular that you can use to orient yourself?

When I was expecting ds1 I had a very distinct 'lump'. It was right under the ribs. He was breech and it was definitely his head! They did scans to check his position before the c-section and I said there was not much point as you could still see his head! It was so uncomfortable.

I'm 36 weeks now but for quite a while I've had a solid lump just under my breastbone that is baby's bum! It's making it difficult to bend and put socks on. Roll on eviction day!

I’d say possibly bum as well! Both my babies were in this position for a significant chunk of my pregnancies and would regularly poke their bony little bums out. Currently 38+5 in this pregnancy & poking her bum out is still a regular occurrence. Pretty painful now though 😅 can always ask your midwife to confirm at your next appointment! Smile

It's really hard to tell the difference between head and bum apparently. I'm 38 weeks and my baby is breech. His head is right under my ribs and has been there for a while so I've got used to feeling it. When I went for my last midwife appointment she had a feel and said that if I hadn't had scans showing breech, she wouldn't be 100% sure if it was head or bum.

I'm the same. Always 1 side of my stomach 😂 I always thought it was her head but she's head down so it must be her butt haha

LuckyFlash · 07/02/2021 15:47

Same! It’s also moved from being on the right side of my belly button up to under my ribs and it’s sooo uncomfortable. I’m hoping it’s a bum as that would mean he’s the right way up but it feels very hard so I’m assuming head.

Bottom for mine according to a recent scan. Likes pressing its bottom into my ribs!
