Possible low cervix

NC for this because i feel a bit embarrassed I should know what this is and I don't. Also a bit tmi.

So I'm 6-7 weeks pregnant. Had two mcs before this pregnancy. DH panicking a bit about having sex incase it causes a mc.

Anyway we had sex today and he was overly gentle and said it was because he felt like something had swelled up inside me.

No idea what he was talking about so I had a feel. When I put my middle finger in to check (palm up) theres like a round lump quite low down. I can feel it with my finger in half way.

Is this my cervix? I feel daft for even asking but I always thought my cervix was much higher up. Now I'm panicking this means I might have another mc because its low

@Trying93 congrats on your pregnancy and sorry to hear about your previous losses. Yes this defines feels like four cervix - it feels like a hard ball protruding into your vagina. When we were TTC I checked my cervix position everyday for the full 6/7 months so am well acquainted with mine. Certainly sounds like your cervix but maybe check with midwife if worried. As far as position goes I can’t really comment as I stopped checking mine after getting my BFP (am 14 weeks). High position is a full finger length or out of reach, medium is to your second knuckle and low is to your first knuckle. Not sure if that helps x

@MintGreenLife thanks for replying. Bit of a failed name change for my first post. I would say mine is medium then.

Im reluctant to phone because after alot of googling people said when they phoned the midwife they were told to stop prodding and checking it 😂 which I will.

I've got an early scan next week so I will find out if everything is okay then. I know from previous mcs there's nothing that will stop it, If its going to happen it will.

Good luck with your pregnancy and thanks again

@Needadvice001 no worries. if you're having an early scan it will most likely be internal, so you could ask for them to have a quick look at your cervix position and length? I had a scan with the NHS at 7 weeks and I didn't ask anything about my cervix, but the sonographer did comment that it was 'nice and long' so it was obviously something she had a quick look at anyway as routine. Maybe getting them to have a quick look during the scan will put your mind at rest x

@MintGreenLife I'll be 7-8 weeks so it hopefully be a tummy scan but I know it might be internal.

I've had a bit of spotting this morning which I know I can happen after sex. Honestly wish we hadn't had it now as all its done it cause me to worry. I'll speak to them if I make it as far as the scan.
