Pregnant? Expired merina IUD?!

So, I have a Mirena IUD that expired in November last year. I have been trying to have this removed and replaced but due to appointment availability this hasn’t happened
Anyway, my period is due in 7 days but the last 2 days, I had some very light bleeding.. (pink and spotty.) This is very unusual and something that doesn’t happen to me. Since having the Mirena put in 5 years ago, I’ve had normal regular periods and never any bleeding in between.
My partner suggested it could be implantation bleeding and we joked about it and decided to do an early detection clear blue test this morning. Well, that has came back as positive(though be it quite faint but still definitely there.)
Has anyone had any experience with this? Could I be pregnant? Does the Mirena really stop working this quickly? Thank you!

When mine expired and needed removing under general anaesthetic I had to take the mini pill alongside until I got my hospital appointment. The mirena can be detrimental to a pregnancy and if you are pregnant it should really be removed if possible

It expired 3 months ago! Are you seriously asking if it still works ? Of course it won't it expired 3 months ago

If the hormones have all gone yes it's possible.

I fell pregnant with twins after having the copper coil fitted, I don't get along with hormonal ones.

I've read online that the mirena coil can stay effective for up to 7 years but is only licenced for 5 years. It would be very unlucky if you fell pregnancy only 3 months after expiry

Mine is also out of date, fortunately dp has had the snip. I have it to manage periods. My periods have been all over for about 4m (it's about 8m out) I don't normally have any bleeding, now I'm bleeding every few weeks and spotty. Bleeding isn't as bad as without but it's driving me mad. It may just be that like me, the coil is just running out. Do a test though to be sure, risk of eptopic is very high with the coil
