36+1 weeks and not engaged!

Hi all,

Stressing because I am 36+1 days today and baby is still not engaged yet... but midwife said he has very little room in there.

Does this mean he will be late??

I don’t know if I can cope another 6 weeks if He’s late 🤣😫

Doesn't mean anything at this point. Is he head down when she feels for position?

Is it your first baby? I didn't think they fully engage until you are imminently about to give birth, especially with your first. DD was low but not engaged right up until the day I gave birth.

He’s defo head down... just wasn’t sure if they were meant to engage at all now? Hopefully he will before birth, just was worried it would make him come later.

I remember feeling the same towards the end of my pregnancy. Make sure you take time to relax and look after yourself. I hope the birth goes well.

My babies head wasn't engaged 12 hours before going into spontaneous labour at 40 weeks. You've got loads of time.

I was head down not engaged at 38+2 and she was born 38+6. My bump didn't drop either.

A friend of mines bump dropped at 36 weeks with head engaged around the same time and she went overdue.
