I'm 8 weeks today and over the last few days my, already not very strong symptoms, seem to have possibly eased and are certainly not increasing. I've felt mildly queasy, felt like I'm going to gag when putting out the bins and I'm craving carbs more than usual but that's about it.
I had a healthy pregnancy a couple of years ago, in which the nausea/ food aversion symptoms at this point were a lot stronger at this point and increased in strength through to around 10 weeks. Although to be fair, I never vomited
In contrast, this pregnancy has felt very much like a pregnancy I had a few months ago which resulted in a MMC.
Can symptoms be less in later pregnancies or is this probably a bad sign? I've booked a a scan later in the week, so hopefully will be able to get some answers then.

Every pregnancy can be different so not necessarily a sign.
I had a MMC identified at 14 weeks, my symptoms and vomiting never eased.
Just wait to see what the scan shows there is good support on the miscarriage/loss pages on MN if it is. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

I hope not op and pregnancies can be very different. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage last year and had mild symptoms that disappeared at 8 weeks (started bleeding at 11w). Like you I kept thinking maybe it was all ok but since I'd suffered terribly with morning sickness in the past I did suspect something was up. I really hope you aren't miscarrying and everything turns out fine!

All pregnancies are very individual. I wouldn't worry too much, hopefully your scan will show a growing baby.

I had a mc in July at 9wk. I felt pretty normal with that one, an early scan showed a singleton with hb but I mc a week after the scan. This pregnancy has had very strong symptoms (nausea, bloating, extreme fatigue, congestion), but I also have a set of fraternal twins so it could be a double rainbow in my case (find out next week).
Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd were not bad symptom wise early on either, some nausea but physical sickness once with 1 & 2 and none with 3.

OP every pregnancy is different it's very common for symptoms to come and go and doesn't mean anything is wrong but it is natural for you to worry.

I am 18 weeks pregnant after a full term loss two years ago and I worry every day.

None of us know what the future holds but the chances are that everything is okay.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. My fingers are crossed for the scan but I am not at all hopeful.

I had symptoms from about 4-7 weeks (nausea, exhaustion) and then they just stopped. I didn't feel pregnant from then, until 2 weeks ago and even so i'm just feeling a little nauseous in an afternoon and I am craving tangy fizzy sweets. I'm 20+4 now and had my 20 week scan on Friday and everything is looking good so far!

Please try not to worry (I know it's so hard). xx

I have never had symptoms except from being tired and sore boobs. Which went and came back at different weeks.
I actually had more symptoms and sickness with the baby I lost.
Symptoms don't mean anything by themselves

Chanel05 · 04/02/2021 11:32

Hoping all is well for you.

In contrast, I had a mmc in 2019 and never once lost my symptoms. I still suffered hideous morning sickness, sore boobs etc, right up until I was put under GA for surgical management.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Just to update I went for the scan on Friday. I measured 6 weeks, which makes sense, however there was no heartbeat.
The scanner seemed quite optimistic and telling us to have positive thoughts before the rescan in 2 weeks time. However the fetal pole was over 6mm. Everything I've read, including medical studies, says that there's very little chance of success at that point if there isn't a heartbeat.
I do wonder why they didn't make this clear to us at the scan or say something like there's a possibility that it will be ok but that it's a v. slim one.

It is sometimes hard to see a heartbeat at that point. I had to have an internal scan at 6+5 because they couldn't see a heartbeat
Moominmiss · 07/02/2021 22:34

I’m sorry op, hopefully the baby is just a slow starter and by the rescan you’ll see everything you hope to.

With my mc when I was scanned and told baby measured ‘around 6 weeks’ but with no heartbeat I was told to come back, when we returned the fetal pole had grown to 6mm but still no heartbeat so they diagnosed mc. They did however say that they wouldn’t give any medical management until one more confirmation scan a week later. Unfortunately I passed the pregnancy naturally within that week.

I do hope you have a more positive outcome x

Sadly I went back today and found it was a missed miscarriage - however glad to have found out relatively early

@runningpram so sorry to read this. Hoping you have the support you need. A missed miscarriage is truly awful Thanks
