Can someone help? I have pcos which means I struggle to know when my periods are due and when I ovulated. I had my last period on the 7th of January. But since a few days ago I've felt really sick, have really sore boobs and constantly weeingShock I took a first response test and it come up with a second line within seconds of the test line coming up.

Is it possible to fall pregnant and get a positive that quick ?

Picture quality is awful I know!

That looks positive, you can clearly see a pink line.
I had a positive test 5 or 6 days before my period was due, so it may be that you did ovulate earlier this month.

SunnySideUp2020 · 03/02/2021 08:27

Makes sense. This is a nice positive. You must be around 11- 12 dpo.
Looks like despite your pcos you ovulated around 22nd Jan or CD 16, which is usually when i ovulate myself! It adds up!
Congrats!!!

@readyforroundtwo @SunnySideUp2020 thank you so much. Just wasn't sure if it could be a false postive due to testing early. But thank you Smile

@cymb first response are very reliable and that is definitely a positive.
Congratulations if that's what you are hoping for!
I also have PCOS so understand the nightmare with periods.

ShalomToYouJackie · 03/02/2021 08:41

That's definitely a positive, FRER don't give false positives. I'd test again in 2 days and it'll be much darker and more obvious. Congratulations xx

Chelyanne · 03/02/2021 08:55

It's positive, congrats.
If you give it a few days and test again you should get a stronger line.

cymb · 03/02/2021 09:18

@readyforroundtwo honestly pcos is a nightmare with periods... mine could be apsolutely fine then just stop for a few months Shock

@ShalomToYouJackie I'm so use to negatives I actually took the test expecting nothing and see a line and wasn't sure if to believe it or not Grin thank you I'm going to re test in a few days xx

@cymb I know it's horrible!
I was diagnosed in 2014 and I only had two periods in that year.
I did find that taking supplements, diet and excersize to be the best thing for it though.
The months leading up to conceiving I managed to get my periods down to a more regular 35-37 days.

Congratulations on your positive, such an overwhelming feeling Grin

PatsyStone39 · 03/02/2021 12:17

I have pcos and had fertility treatment...i got a positive on a frer 7 days after I had the IUI so can know with certainty of dates.

Congratulations!!

cymb · 03/02/2021 13:10

@readyforroundtwo
Yeah I believe stress also affects my periods and stuff they won't come as regular if I am stressed. Fingers crossed I am!

Would there be any different if I test 24 hours after or am I best waiting 48 hours ? Smile

cymb · 03/02/2021 13:11

@PatsyStone39 how did you find the fertility process. I was looking into that route as I've suffered with a miscarriage in the pass. Congratulations to you too Smile

OP posts:
readyforroundtwo · 03/02/2021 14:16

@cymb you could try tomorrow morning to check if the line has got darker but it's normally recommended to wait 48-72 hours as that's how often HCG rises.

cymb · 04/02/2021 07:33

@readyforroundtwo I took a clear blue just to confirm this morning and the week indicator is about rightSmile

@cymb yay congratulations Flowers
Just be mindful those digital tests are not very accurate at determining number of weeks, so if you did one in say another 2 or 3 weeks it may still only show 1-2 weeks pregnant.

cymb · 04/02/2021 11:21

@readyforroundtwo oh god really... lucky you've told me I was going to re test with the week indicator again next week or so to see if it said 2-3 🙄x

readyforroundtwo · 04/02/2021 11:40

@cymb no definitely don't do that, it will just create anxiety because you will think something is wrong. I know it's hard to get your head around at first but you are definitely pregnant so stop testing Grin
