Hello

I’m almost 7 weeks, had first part of booking appointment today by phone.

I just feel so fed up, I’m feeling crap (physically) and have absolutely zero motivation to get any work done at the moment. I haven’t been to the office since 17 March 2020 and it’s really taking it’s toll now!

In some ways I know I’m lucky that I can hide the nausea but in other ways I feel so crap, nothing to drive me to get out of bed in the morning and I’m close to under performing (solicitor, have targets for meet).

Think I just need a moan.
Anyone else feeling like this? I feel I should be happy with our news, we’ve been trying for a baby for nearly 2 years and had fertility involvement but all I want to do is cry and have a glass of wine!

@Fro93 you sound so like me in your original post that I thought I had written it! Im 6 weeks and been working at home since last March (also a solicitor). Had zero enthusiam today...must have recorded 2 hours today at most! Just thought id share so you know theres someone else out there feeling the same x

One option is to inform work early if it is seriously impacting your performance - I personally understand not wanting to tell work, I have had a miscarriage and am currently 16 weeks and still haven't told them, but luckily I've had an easy pregnancy. That way at least you're protected as pregnancy is a protected characteristic.

Hi ladies, how are you all doing?

Those lawyers amongst us, I managed to get 5 chargeable hours yesterday and I had a midwife appointment (which took 2 hours out of my day as she was running so far behind!) small victories!

Must admit physically I feel worse than ever today... it’s my birthday so hubby made me a lovely breakfast and I’m regretting eating it Confused

But mentally in a much better place and as crap as it is that you all feel this way, it’s nice to know we are not alone Smile

@Fro93 glad you're feeling a bit better! I'm still the same, being sick probably 5-10 times a day. Was even sick twice through the night last night and 2-3 times already this morning. I just feel utter crap. And I'm so behind on my work. I'm off at the end of this week for a couple of days and I'm so scared of them finding out how behind I am, and I'm physically not able to catch up I've tried this week but I just feel so unwell. I think I'm going to tell my work early and hope they will reduce my workload and pray they don't find out how behind I am. At this point I wish I'd get furloughed again for a few months.

Hi ladies

So glad I found this thread. I’m 7+5 and also a solicitor wfh. Struggling massively with the nausea and feeling exhausted.

This week I’ve managed to work (albeit at a slow pace) in the morning, then slept for the majority of the afternoon. I know work are going to start picking up soon on my chargeable hours (lack of). They unfortunately aren’t the kind of firm that will offer much sympathy which is kind of the reason I don’t want to tell them yet, plus two of my colleagues have just announced they are pregnant which has gone down like a lead balloon due to maternity leave etc.

Just feel like I’m “existing” at the min, and ending the days in floods of tears. Really hoping it starts to get easier

I am totally feeling your pain @Fro93. I'm 7weeks 2 days and feel so unmotivated throughout the day.

I had to tell my boss last week as he asked if I would be part of the Covid-19 testing team at work and I said no because I didn't think it was worth risking babies health for. He has been FAB! He has since been checking in with me daily and now I no longer feel guilty if I nip off for a nap during the day. If you can tell your employer and feel like they will be ok I would get it over with. It's been a weight off my shoulders especially as if I miss a morning meeting as I'm hugging the toilet he knows I have a perfectly good reason! No need for excuses anymore.

Saying that, it's still grim. I could sob every morning as I just don't quite know how I'm going to get through the day. I'm really hoping it passes soon and the second trimester is fun filled!!

Hi everyone! I’ve hit my 12 week mark today! First time posting on here and first time mum to be! My cravings are constantly changing at the moment. Specifically for things I can’t have! Does anyone know if crab sticks are ok to eat during pregnancy? Many thanks! Smile

Hi! I feel you about cravings! Mine are changing daily! Not sure about crab sticks (I’m veggie so not paid attention to meat/fish stuff I can’t eat) I’m sure someone will be able to answer though x
