Nipple Piercing

Hi,

Might be a stupid question but can't find a clear answer on google -
I'm 13 weeks pregnant and have had my nipple pierced for about 6 years - should I take it out now if I'm planning to breastfeed or can I leave it in a little longer?

Thanks

My midwife said leave them as long as I wanted. Apparently some women can breastfeed with them in but that just seemed like making life more difficult than it needs to be. I've just taken mine out at 32 weeks. Purely because they were getting uncomfortable.

I took mine out at 6 weeks because they were a bit sore. I've had them done for 11 years so figured they might need time to heal up if I want to breastfeed :)

@Sailor2009 @VNttc

Thanks both! I'll take it out when it gets uncomfortable

I took mine out when it got uncomfortable, it didn't heal up but ds1 seemed to prefer feeding from that side.
