Raised Pulse Rate

Has anyone else had a raised pulse rate after 28weeks?
I’m 30weeks now and have a raised pulse rate of resting 108-112. Been to hospital today and they said it’s quiet common in 3rd trimester. Also I had Covid a few weeks ago and they said it could also be do to with that and should go within a few weeks.

Anyone else?

Also had a ecg and it said abnormal Sinus Tachycardia. Which doctor said in simple terms is a raised pulse.

I'm 31 weeks and my RHR isn't quite as high as that but it's up around 90-100 which is a big difference to my normal RHR of 50-55. I was also told that it's normal because pumping more blood and a lot of it is going to baby. I don't like it though - feels like I'm constantly running when I'm sitting down.

Exactly how I feel even when resting. So they don’t seem worried with yours being up by nearly 40-50bpm? The doctor said he’s not too concerned about mine & mine is only up 10-15, as my normal is 90-95

Hi guys,
Not trying to be a scare mongerer at all, I had the same thing happen to me in pregnancy though my normal Hr was between 80-90bpm during my third trimester it was consistently 120-150. Got sent home from the MAU a number of times until a consultant offered to induce me on my due date.

Long story short it may not end the same way my story did (forceps followed my emergency c-section and now on our 3rd day in hospital due to both having developed horrendous infections! ) I'd definitely keep questioning it if it's causing you a concern. It could be nothing but could be the start of something like it was in my case!

I had this, it's not nice is it. My RHR was always 110-115bpm. They done an ecg and I wore a 24 hour monitor but they didn't take any further action. Anyway, I was induced and the birth was absolutely fine with no intervention. I remember my HR was 170 after the birth, but I can get higher than that in a workout! As soon as I had DD, my resting heart rate went way back down to 75.

I had this in my first pregnancy from around 32 weeks, they did test me for blood clots as high heart rate can be a symptom of that. Came back all clear and they put it down to pregnancy. Day after I had DS resting was back down to 65.

Currently pregnant again and noticed my heart rate has been significantly higher since around 30 weeks!

I’ve been noticing this. Problem is I have no idea what my HR was before pregnancy so not sure how much higher it is but I often feel like my heart is racing even just sitting. I’ve started getting a bit short of breath too (30 weeks). Google seems to suggest it’s normal so I haven’t said anything to the midwife yet...

Mumofoneandanotherontheway · 02/02/2021 09:03

Seems to be quiet normal, I’ve never had it in my previous two pregnancies but doctor said all pregnancies are different. Jasmine9835 if you don’t mind me ask how high is it this time around? I just constantly feel like I’ve been for a run Sad

I normally get the feeling I’ve been for a run a couple of times a day when all I’ve been doing is sitting watching tv! When I measure it during those periods it’s normally between 125-135. I stopped wearing my Fitbit once I saw my resting heart rate increasing again at the start of pregnancy, so not sure what my resting is.

I went in for monitoring the other day as I was getting dizzy spells and my heart rate was fluctuating between 100-110 on the monitor. My iron levels are low so they’ve started me on some tablets as they think this could be having some sort of affect on it.

When did you last have your iron levels checked?

Mumofoneandanotherontheway · 02/02/2021 13:35

Jasmine9835 I actually had my iron checked last week and they told me it’s low. They’ve started me on 200mg every other day. Hmmm maybe this is the cause of it. I just want that feeling gone Confused
