Early bleeding?!

Hi everyone,

On Friday I visited the EPU as I am 4 weeks pregnant however, I am experiencing bleeding. I had an internal and external scan and they reassured me that my cervix was closed and it was too early to see anything, my womb lining was “thick and fluffy”

I have had my bloods done twice and my HGC has doubled on the second blood test.

However, this evening I have passed a blood clot and experiencing red blood. Not enough to be a period but more than spotting.

I don’t have a scan until Monday 8th and it is absolute torture.

Has anybody else experienced this and what was the outcome? (I am 99% sure it will be a chemical pregnancy) however I do hold onto the tinest bit of hope.

I'm really sorry you are going through this. I've had a chemical pregnancy and the only thing I can offer is a test should show up negative fairly soon after so maybe try a test in a couple of days.

Hi, I have had spotting and a 'bleed', when I had 3 occasions of spotting at 4.5weeks, 5weeks and 5.5weeks I spoke to the doctor and agreed a scan may not give reassurance so early and decided to stick it out, then at 9 weeks I started with very bad pain (lasted 8 days in the end) so was sent for an early scan, all was ok and discovered I have an 8cm fibroid at the top of my womb. Then when the pain was dissipating I started bleeding, more than I had before and bright red blood, this was at 10weeks, I had my midwife appointment that morning and she asked to see the pad, she thought there was enough for another scan which again was all ok. Sonographer said bleeding didn't come from within the womb and cervix is closed.

It is hard, especially in early pregnancy to think what our babies can over come but mine is showing already how resilient they can be! Holding hope for you!

I had an internal and external scan on Friday and they said my cervix is closed but it’s too early to see anything, my HGC levels doubled so I have to go for another scan on Monday.... it’s just the unknown for me it’s too much.

I am only 11weeks at the moment, 12 week scan next week, still feel nervous about it even though I've had 2 already! Due August and first baby so big learning curve!
