Hi,
Looking for some advise as can’t find anything in my notes or online.
I am 2 weeks post C Section and would love a bath but I’m not sure whether it’s allowed and will muck up my healing.
The scar is healing nicely, dressing came off the day I went home after my shower as instructed by Midwife.
Thanks for any help in advance x

I had a bath 3 weeks after, but i think its just when the scar has healed over. The midwife said to me that the concern isnt the scar getting wet, its how you have to lift yourself out of the bath which can cause problems internally because it uses a lot of your core muscles so just be careful, maybe get your partner to help u out...thats what i did x

Your scar needs to have fully sealed or you could allow bacteria in with a bath.
Trust me, you do not want an infection. I got one as my stitches didn't dissolve fully and ended up on 2 different types of anti-biotics at the same time to clear it up.

I think it depends on the type of stitches etc you have had too. I know I was glue and was told not to have a bath for 6 weeks post c section. I could get the scar wet, but not immerse it in water. Sorry OP.

I had a bath a couple of weeks after my section but I had dissolvable stitches not glue. I didn't use bubble bath and put a capful of dettol in as I remembered my gran doing this after her hysterectomy. I healed really well and didn't have any post surgery complications.

I think I was only a week after? X
