Reduced Movements Inside

Hi everyone,

Currently 33 weeks.

I have been in the hospital over the weekend with reduced movements.. I hadn't felt the baby hardly at all for 2/3 days and had felt quite unwell myself.

They checked the baby, and the baby was fine, but I still couldn't feel them inside me and I had a scan and he could be seen moving on the scan, he's head down and should be no reason I can't feel the movements..

I can feel them on my stomach but I can't hold my tummy all day obviously so I'm still missing a lot of movements so I'm not reassured.

Has anyone had this? The midwife and the doctor couldn't seem to find a reason why this would be?

Thank you,

Hi! I'm 33 weeks too and have only noticed reduced movements once. It's very scary and difficult to pin down when you last felt them! Sometimes I think you question yourself when you last felt them and how long it's been.

If the midwives aren't worried then thats a good sign. I can understand your frustration though as now you are likely to be worried constantly if you can't feel any movement. Where is your placenta placed? It may be that baby has turned or moved into a new position and you can't feel it because of the placenta.

I've noticed this too on occasion! My husband will sometimes see her move and I've not noticed! Sometimes I'll think I've not felt her for a while and when I place my hand on my stomach I can feel her move plenty but I've noticed from the inside!

@Phie04 I know it's a lot to try and keep track of. I just want the baby here now so I can feel more confident he's okay but I'm sure I'll still be worrying about something else everyday instead

@HungryHippo20 that's interesting sounds the exact same as me.. I can't understand how you can't feel it inside it's so strange! It's reassuring to know it's not just me as I can't find anything online really with the same situation
