Hello,

I know this is daft of me to be giving this much thought but I’m 28 weeks with my first and I’ve got a B bump where it isn’t round but goes in at the middle. So from the side it looks like a B shape! I’m hoping the 2 bumps will join up and I’ll feel like I have the nice rounded bump like most pregnant women soon! (I know that the most important thing is the baby is doing well BTW and I am so grateful for that).

I was just wondering if anyone else has this type of bump or has had this with their bumps and if or when they joined up and became one rounded bump?! 🙈

The midwife said some women are like this and it is generally down to body shape. I am curvy naturally and I’ve never had a flat stomach (or even close) so I’m thinking my bump was always bound to be this way!

Thanks for reading my nonsensical thoughts!

I have a B bump op! I did in my last pregnancy too, so think im just one of those lucky women 🙄 i'm currently 37 weeks and it's much less noticeable, I'd say from about 32 weeks is when I started to look more rounded.
Can I ask if you're carrying high?

This is my 2nd, I had a nice round bump first time and this time I noticed a indented line making it look like i had 2 bumps. Id never even heard of it and found its called a B bump. Im maybe slightly heavier than first baby i was very slim but i was still only a size 10 when i got pregnant this time tho and have one, so it must just be one of those things sometimes. Hoeping it goes away, i do see it rounding out a bit.

Thanks for your replies, it’s nice to know we’re in our own little gang!
@JoandLily I’m hoping mine will start to look more round in a few weeks like yours! I’m not sure about carrying high? The midwife says my uterus is quite big and so my top bump is bigger than my bottom bump if that makes sense!

This was me too! I reckon around 30-32 weeks is when I 'rounded' but occasionally when sitting down it does look B like again!

Thanks @HungryHippo20 I’m hoping in 2 to 4 weeks time my bump will join up too!

I had a B shaped bump at first! And felt exactly the same that it wasn’t a proper round bump.

Mine is because I have had abdominal surgery several times, so the various scars have meant that my stomach indents where my belly button is. The scars never ever bothered me, but I was upset about it as my bump got bigger.

I’m now coming up 31 weeks and I have a very round bump! I think it just takes a while for it to catch up!

I'm 28 weeks also & have a b bump. I have thought I didn't really look pregnant but I bumped into someone at 26 weeks & got omg how pregnant do you look. 😅

jarofsticks · 30/01/2021 21:50

B bumps are beautiful too Smile
I'm curvy and found I had the same in my first pregnancy, wearing the under bump maternity jeans kind of pushed the tummy up and made it round!
Third trimester it popped out fully and the B bump was very much forgotten!
Second pregnancy currently, no B in sight!

BlondePotter · 30/01/2021 21:54

Me too! I'm 22 weeks and always had a B belly no matter how much weight I tried to lose.
Hoping at some point the middle bit stretches out even if I end up with loads of stretch marks

I've never had a B bump as I carry quite high, I'm tall but have quite a small gap between my hips and ribs. Earlier on in pregnancies from no 2 onwards I had my "mum pouch" that would roll my bloomers down and be wobbly wobble little bit under bump though (so weird lol).

I had a B bump with DD! I had an anterior placenta - not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I had never heard of a b bump before and just assumed everyone has big pregnant bumps so I had bought a lot of right T-shirt’s and then realised it didn’t look good (to me) because of the b bump. I was gutted, but I found that belly bands helped smooth things out a bit(I think I read about them on here at the time) and eventually it caught up and I had a ‘normal’ bump by the end.

Thanks all I feel better now knowing I’m not on my own with my B bump!

Its quite common if you were carrying extra weight before you got pregnant. I had this with my ds and it turned into one bump by about 24 weeks. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and have a b shaped belly as it never went flat after ds.
