Clear blue digital weeks indicator

Hey - I know this thread has been done to death, but, I’m about 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I did a clear blue digital weeks test with FMU this morning and it’s still stuck at 1 - 2 weeks. Fairly certain when I ovulated as we used ovulation sticks.

Very worried at the moment as I don’t think I should still be in this range. Any advice would be appreciated.

Those tests measure from conception so you need to add another 2 weeks on. They are not very accurate for calculating dating.

For your own mental health you need to age away from pregnancy tests now.

I believe the weeks indicate from conception rather than from missed period. So add 2 weeks to what it says. Also it measures HCG in urine and is therefore not an accurate predictor. Everyone is different.

Thanks for your messages. Sorry should have been clearer - I know it measures from conception not your period. My concern is that if I am 5 plus 4 the test should at least say 2 -3 weeks from conception if not 3 plus, if my hcg was rising properly?

I do know that a sane person wouldn’t be testing, but I can’t help be worried at it said 1 - 2 weeks also the first time I tested on the day of my expected period. So it’s just not moved in a week and a half.

Firstly, congratulations, they are coming up positive.
Some people never see the 3+ and have perfectly healthy pregnancies.
These test are not an indicator of viability, only time will tell if it'll work out or not.

Even these viability scans are not 100% guarantee that baby will survive if it's got a hb. I had a scan in July which confirmed a hb but still mc the following week. 11wk atm, I'll not relax until I pass the 1st trimester and have seen an active baby on my dating scan. I only got digital tests with this one to show dh, easier for him to read lol

I never had 3+ and i tested from the day of my missed period to 12 weeks pregnant!

I am now 19 weeks and baby is fine.

Clearblue are a bit shit!

Thanks guys! Posts like these do help.

My concern is the 1 -2 as I think the levels are pretty low. I’d probably feel a bit better if it was 2 -3. I’ve found so many posts where people have said it has predicted their miscarriage when stuck at 1 - 2. I know everyone is different, but it’s hard to not be worried as it’s taken us a while to fall pregnant.

@Chelyanne sorry about your earlier loss ❤️

@CACB I hate to be negative but I know when I was in your situation it helped me to hear both sides.

Like some of the PP’s have suggested, clearblue weeks indicators aren’t always that reliable or accurate.

However, in my own experience of them they’ve always accurately predicted when things weren’t progressing as they should.

I’ve had 4 previous miscarriages and in all of them I never got beyond 1-2 weeks. Even taking them a week apart, I temped so knew when I’d ovulated. I knew I should be 5 weeks yet I still got 1-2 weeks, tested a few days later, still 1-2 and then eventually lines on other tests hmbegsin getting fainter and I started bleeding.

With my current pregnancy I knew it was different as I got my 1-2 at 10dpo, 2-3 by 12dpo and 3+ by 19dpo. And with that progression we then saw a heartbeat yesterday, which I know is still not an indication that things will continue to progress, but as I said in my experience, the clearblue digitals were always very accurate for me in giving a heads up things were a bit off.

However, if you aren’t certain of your ovulation date then there’s a definite chance you just ovulated later than you think and are more like 4 weeks pregnant, in which case the 1-2 would be more likely.

Good like. I truly hope you get a positive outcome 🤞🏻

I’m pretty certain of my ovulation date give or take a day. I would love to be the exception and everything is ok and it’s just the test. I guess we shall see

@CACB hey currently in a similar position as you were re: 1-2 weeks on CB digi tests. What was your outcome? Thanks Smile

Nebulia · 30/01/2022 09:10

I used these and got my 3+ weeks as I was actively misscarrying my child so the weeks indicator isn't a guarantee unfortunately.

Fingers crossed for you x

fineappleglasgow · 30/01/2022 10:49

These tests don't have any medical validation in regards the dates.

I would stop doing them and book a scan for 8 weeks.

I hope it goes well for you

TTCfirstbabyx · 30/01/2022 11:17

Hey there,
I had this exact same problem and will never touch a clear blue digital again as it caused me so much stress and worry.
I was stuck on a 1-2 weeks for like 2 weeks when I should have been on 2-3 and then 3 weeks (and I know when I ovulated which was later confirmed by my dates at the scans).
I did first responses alongside as they were getting darker but only slightly and were pretty the same for about a week too so I convinced my self I was loosing my baby (especially when I started spotting brown which is another story).
However, I am 6 months pregnant today and baby girl is doing very well.
Stop using the clear blue now! I did in the end as it was driving me mad.
I hope all goes well you also!
Best wishes xxx

Totoro1234 · 30/01/2022 12:10

@TTCfirstbabyx thank you so much for your words if wisdom! The tests don’t change anything and bring nothing but worry and questions! Going to step away and just do another first response in a few days. Take care Smile xxx
