Placenta Previa

So after having a 'perfect' placenta at 20weeks I went for a scan after reduce movements at 32 weeks and I've got placenta previa, they have said it's quite rare for it to grow down, has anyone else had this? Has anyone gone full term with placenta previa?

Im having a c-section after complication with my last pregnancy but I'm just anxious about the risks of having a low placenta.

Hi!

I don’t have it (from what I know I’m only 9 weeks) but my mum had it on both me and my sister!
She went on to have c sections too, she had healthy pregnancies with the both of us but she did bleed all the way through both pregnancies.
She had two healthy babies! (I’m 26 and my sister is 24) and we both turned out completely fine! :)
I do suffer with anxiety and ocd but I don’t think that’s for anything to do with placenta previa haha!

I’m sure you’ll be totally fine! :)

I had low placenta previa. Had to have c section and my little boy is a year old now. Complication at birth but that was because cord was around his neck. Nothing to do with placenta. C section was a week before due date and I was informed after it looked like I was about to go into labour. Felt very heavy down below though the last few weeks I guess because placenta is being pushed by baby weight.

I had my baby 7m ago after total placenta previa. Was closely monitored and had a section at 37+5 weeks x

Thanks all, I'm hoping to have a section at 38 weeks, might have to ask for it though.

Just so anxious in case I start bleeding, we have a toddler with only 1 family member living near by and the hospital is 30 minutes away so got all these irrational thoughts!

I had total PP nearly 3 years ago and a C section at 38 weeks. DS was a perfectly healthy 9.12.

I had extra scans/appointments towards the end of of my pregnancy.

I did 26 years ago. Bled at 27 weeks and spent next 7 weeks in hospital. Kept bleeding on and off. Had an emergency C section at 34 weeks. Baby born 5lbs.
Now all ok and serving in the RAF.

I had an undiagnosed full previa. I was booked for an ELCS due to health issues luckily, which was when they discovered it as it had been in the right place at my 20w scan.

I was told I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week scan, which was a few weeks ago. Nobody seems too concerned though and have told me it will most likely move up. It still scares me though.
I had a bleed at 13 weeks. It was really heavy and I was convinced I was losing the baby. Turns out it was the placenta, even though that was really early. I was told there is more chance of bleeding if the placenta completely covers the cervix. There’s less chance if the placenta is just low, but could still happen. I know how anxious you must be,
I am too. Just know that any bleeding is your blood, not the baby’s. Good luck xx

@Fascinationends sounds the same as me, my placenta was fine at 20 weeks as well, it's been discovered by chance really!

They don't think it'll grow up as it's been growing down, I'm just hoping for a calm c-section instead of an emergency.
