Hello,

I can’t seem to find an answer if use of essential oil in diffuser (lavender, peppermint etc) is ok in pregnancy? I’m currently in second trimester and just want to relax a bit :)

Thanks :)

I’m really not sure why they wouldn’t be ok.

They are usually safe, most have all natural ingredients so you should be okay.

I asked about scented candles and got told they were fine but to avoid clary sage Smile

Lavender oil is in some of my products that say pregnancy safe on them if thar helps? Why dont you just google the difficult oils you want to use to make sure?

LuckyFlash · 29/01/2021 16:43

I use them. I didn’t even occur to me they wouldn’t be safe. However don’t use clary sage - apparently it can bring on early labour

I’ve found a list of essential oils that aren’t safe in pregnancy in the past by googling, wasn’t difficult to find. I think the issue is more with essential oils applied topically and at 100% purity.

Thank you all :)
I did find information about cautious topical use of essential oils hence my question about the diffuser use.
And yes I found list of oils considered to be safe to use in pregnancy.
