C section scar- steri strips and glue?

Hello lovely ladies. I am currently 2.5 weeks post partum after an emergency c section. A midwife removed my stiches after day 5 but said that the steri strips will fall by themselves. It is 2.5 weeks now and they are starting to slightly peel off from the bottom and I can see the scar underneath a little bit. There seems to be a little bit or “wet” substance on them which I think is glue as when I pat it with a tissue it still stays there. Do you know if glue is used or is my scar infected? Are the steri strips generally used to cover a glued scar? The doctors didn’t really explain this to me so looking for some reassurance. Thank you in advance xxx

I'm not sure about the steri strips as I didn't have those. If it were infected you would certainly know about it, it would look very red/angry and smell bad. So long as you keep it clean and dry it should heal up find. Maybe try dabbing with antiseptic fluid, my cousin did that with hers and was infection free.

When I had my cesarean they used dissolvable stitches, although they didn't completely dissolve and it ended up infected. It was completely pain free but smelt funky and started to gape open. I ended up on 2 different types of antibiotics at the same time and I had to pull out 2.5 inch of stitching for it to heal up.
