Hi everyone, last year I had a miscarriage. We found out in early January that we are expecting again. I was really anxious, so we booked a private scan. The scan was on the 15th January and showed that we were 8 weeks 3 days. It showed a heartbeat and they said everything was looking good and as to be expected. It’s now 12 days since and I’m praying everything is still good in there. I am trying desperately to not worry but it is so hard :( I still have nausea and I feel exhausted all the time with sore boobs, so I am thinking this is a good sign?

Hi Op, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I know exactly how you feel as I think once you’ve had a miscarriage it just makes you nervous. I believe the chances of a successful pregnancy after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks is 98% which is very encouraging.

It must only be a couple more weeks until your 12 week scan now?

From my own anxious experience and googling when I was scared of miscarrying a read once you see a heartbeat the chances of early miscarriage dramatically reduce. I clung onto that thought!

Hi Teakind, thank you, I hope that is the case x
Yes - my scan is booked in for next Friday, so not long to wait at all.. just hate waiting :( want to know what’s going on in there x

Chances of mc now are much lower.
Unfortunately there is still a risk as I had one after seeing hb on scan in July.

All you can do now is hope that lo keeps holding on and celebrate every day that passes. Congratulations and good luck.
