Hi all. We just found out last week we are expecting our first. I'm 5 weeks and the doctors have told us just to choose a hopsital and contact them (they were not very helpful!!) We are thinking either homerton or whittington. Does anyone have any reviews of either?
Seen Homerton has very bad press about 5 years ago. With Covid it's not easy to visit the units and see for ourselves so any heads up would be great. So nervous and anxious.

Hi, congratulations! I’m 31 weeks with my first. I chose Homerton (over the Royal London). My experience to date has been great- all of the staff I’ve encountered have been lovely. There’s a video on YouTube I believe (from a couple of years ago) about the birthing centre and delivery suite so you can get a bit of an idea about what it’s like.

I had my DC in Homerton in early 2019 and sadly had to return there this month to deal with a miscarriage. I have always found the staff to be very supportive and knowledgeable.

Like all hospitals they are extremely overstretched and might overlook some of your smaller needs, but if you stand up for yourself (politely) things will get sorted very quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

I’ve always found them very helpful at the Whittington!
