Restless legs....

Hi all, has anybody got any tried and tested remedies for kicky/restless legs. I got this last time around but don't remember it kicking in so early (excuse the pun!). It drove me (and DH) mad last night - I was twitching like a mad thing most of the night and feel exhausted this morning.

I posted about this a couple of months ago and got some great advice....

Found it...

HERE

I hope this is of some help...sorry to here that you have it...it is awful.

I've got the same problem. My reflexology lady showed me a point on your foot to massage which seems to help. its the soft pad of flesh, slightly down and to the front of your ankle bone, on the outside of you foot.
Hope that's not too confusing!

Bunglie · 27/10/2004 12:36

Do you mean where the 'arch' of your foot is Dickers?...How do you massage it?

Dickers · 27/10/2004 13:00

Bunglie, not the inside of your foot the outside....put you hand on your baby toe and its neighbour and run your hand up towards you ankle...on my foot its the first bit of "fat" that you get too below your ankle.
I have been massaging it with my thumb in a sort of circular motion.

Will try it, thanks for that Dickers.

I get this sometimes, but much worse in pg - try running the backs of your legs under a cold shower. That really seemed to help me when it got really bad.

MrsDoolittle · 27/10/2004 13:30

Ooh I had that. Horrible!

bronniemuldoon · 27/10/2004 14:21

Thanks guys, and thanks for the thread Bunglie. I'm willing to try anything!

I just hope that it helps, it is nice to know that even more tips have been added to the thread I started...and as this seems to affect so many people perhaps it will help some others too. I hope everything works out for you Brooniemuldoon.

PS I love the name

somebody told me that taking zinc supplements can help? I can't back this theory up at all with personal experience or research, but thought it might be worth a try....

bronniemuldoon · 27/10/2004 17:25

I've been taking the sanatogen pregnancy vitamins throughout my pg so far so hoping my zinc, calcium etc levels should be OK but I'm definitely going to check on the bottle tonight and see if I can supplement them at all. Also going to buy some tonic water on the way home although have a horrible feeling it might give me hearburn (suffering quite badly at the moment) but anything's worth a try....
