20 week scan

Hi everyone,

We've got our 20-week scan coming up soon and I'm just wondering out of total curiosity, do you get the opportunity to have scan picture printed like you do at 12 weeks?

I've tried googling and seen mixed answers of a) yes and b) no, the baby will be too big! So thought I'd ask on here

Yes, but when i have had scans in late pregnancy 38w+ i have been told no as baby is too big

Yes you do; later on I had scan pictures printed but then it was just things like the head or foot because baby was big

I got pictures from all my scans.

We got photos at 20 weeks, 2 of the baby and one of his feet 🥰😂

I got photos at 20wks. But it was a lot more recognizable as a baby in the 12wk photos. When anyone asked to see we showed them the 12wk baby not the 20wk alien.

You usually get them but have to pay.

Was £5 last time I went a few years back now. On scans where they couldn't get very clear ones they gave me them for free.

You get clear pictures of babys head/face quite late on until they start to descend in to the pelvis.

Just had mine today - got a few lovely pics. They used to have a donation box but not now due to Covid.

Yes you do. They’re free in our area at the moment :)

Yes you do, I had a scan at 28 weeks and still got pictures of baby up to the legs.

I got two but the 12 week ones look better. Maybe just luck on when they click to print but the ones we got look a bit freaky with the skull bones really prominent.

Yes I got 2 given to me, and have at every scan I've been to (I've had 5) but have had to attend them all alone as they haven't allowed partners here yet so maybe why they give so many pictures?

I echo PPs that the 12 week scan is the best one definitely!

Our 20 week scan pics were much clearer than the 12 week ones. I have a retroverted uterus so earlier scans are always harder.
