Bleeding at 6-7 weeks

Hi everyone, I know this is a topic that’s been revisited lots, but I’d really appreciate some of your experiences...

I’m roughly 6-7 weeks pregnant, maybe a bit less or more as I decided to relax my obsessive tracking and of course that’s when I got my BFP...

Over the last four days I’ve had some very slight bleeds when I’ve been for a wee, I’ve attached a photo - sorry if it’s TMI... this has happened 2-3 times a day and it’s just the slightest streaking in pink or red. Very mild period like back pain, but I’ve had that since before I got my positive test.

I phoned 111 and they said at this stage it could go either way for my pregnancy, and I’m leaning towards the negative possibly because this is my second pregnancy and the first was text book, no bleeding etc. Obviously because of Covid no one will see me so it’s just a waiting game now...

Thank you in advance for anyone who can share your experiences as to little bleeds, I’m just feeling rather alone in this right now xx

Hi @TheSarahChronicles please find an EPU (early pregnancy unit) locally where you can self refer.
It’s best to get things checked. Or pay circa £50/70 for a private scan.
This is speaking from experience and is what I’d recommend a friend x x x
I’m sure all will be fine but best to get checked.
Let us know what they say x x x

Sorry, I only had one pg and it ended in a 5.5 week mc in Dec so I cannot give comfort but I didn’t want to read and run. If it helps my mc pain was quite bad (worse than period cramps) and not mild and def more blood than that even when it started.

Sparrowfeeder · 25/01/2021 20:38

Good luck, I promise you will be ok whatever happens 💐

TheSarahChronicles · 25/01/2021 20:40

Thanks guys. I’m naturally pessimistic about how this will end, just to protect myself I think. I was really surprised that no one will see me, and the out of hours doctor just said I had to wait until I have my 12 weeks scan unless I’m in severe pain or get a fever. My husband is the opposite to me and thinks everything will be fine so won’t watch my little one so I can go for a private scan (as you can’t have children there now) so I just feel rather stuck and alone xxx

Thank you lovely, I’m so sorry for your loss. I guess because there’s so little blood I’m holding onto hope x

It could still be some implantation bleeding maybe as you're early on. It's such a tiny amount I would try not to worry unless it's a lot more and you're cramping as well. I know that's easier said than done. Could you take a pregnancy test to reassure yourself?

TheSarahChronicles · 25/01/2021 20:44

I’m really hoping that they will refer me at my booking appointment on Friday, but it just seems to hard to get seen by anyone right now. Even my booking appointment is over the phone. Xx

I have had early pregnancy bleeding which have ended in both positive and negative outcomes. Even in pre covid times the advice was wait and see what happens. I hope things work out for you Flowers

TheSarahChronicles · 25/01/2021 20:48

Thank you lovely xx

I had a similar experience at 6.5 weeks. I had a sharp pain then some blood. Turned out it was a subchorionic haematoma - see link below. I was terrified at the time but it all turned out ok for me - baby was fine. If you can get to an EPU I'd self refer ASAP to get checked out. They were brilliant for me. Best of luck to you xx

WorriedMillie · 25/01/2021 20:56

I had this, it was likely an implantation bleed. I was referred to the EPU and scanned at 7+2 and there was a little heartbeat
She’s now 7 and refusing to go to bed Grin

chocohoardersanonymous · 25/01/2021 21:16

I started bleeding at about the same time. It was a lot more than what you have, constant, and lasted until I was about 22 weeks. Scans couldn't determine why it happened but ds was fine and is now 14!

Ireallymustgotobed · 25/01/2021 21:22

Like a previous poster I have had similar amounts of bleeding to you at around the same stage of pregnancy. First time a mmc was discovered at 12 wk scan, second time I went on to have healthy DD who is nearly 6 years old. Just waiting is so hard, but really not much else you can do. Hope you have a good outcome.

Lisyloo725 · 25/01/2021 22:20

If you are near to London, St George’s Hospital, in Tooting have an EPU that is self refer. Sure there are others around the country.
You literally turn up at 8am/8:30am any week day and wait in line.
I was glad I did. All the stats say you’ll be fine so stay strong.

haidri · 26/01/2021 01:23

Best thing at this stage is to track any discharge/bleeding particularly in colour and consistency as this will indicate miscarriage or not.

Don't do any heavy lifting or excessive work that includes rash movements of your abdomen.

Symptoms are on & off, and don't rely on HCG strips. Best thing is to always track what's going on when you wipe!

Best of luck xxx

TheSarahChronicles · 26/01/2021 09:47

Thank you so much for all of your responses, no more bleeding last night or today, I had two instances like the photo earlier on yesterday. I’m just going to try and not worry myself sick, although I feel like I’m running on empty being run ragged by a toddler 🙈

Thank you lovely, I’d love to, but unfortunately there’s not an EPU near me that will allow me to self refer at this time. I’m not sure if I should phone my GP today and see if they suggest anything different to the out of hours doctor that 111 referred me to, but can’t imagine they will. I feel like with how busy everyone is in health care at the moment I should just wait until my telephone booking appointment on Friday, but it feels like the longest wait... xxx
