Hi all,
Has anyone had this and how concerned should I be?
Itching all over including the palms at times. I’m almost 28 weeks. I’ve called my midwife and she’s scheduled a blood test at the triage this evening.
Anyone with or had similar experiences?

I'm incredibly itchy. Changed out my washing powder for an ultra sensitive baby one, swapped out all my shower and skin care products for ultra gentle, natural organic stuff, tore a hole in my leggings today from itching so hard during yoga.

Hormones my doctor said....

The blood test will test for obstetric cholestasis - I had it, it sounds scary but it’ll be okay, the key thing is that they diagnose it as it can cause (if not diagnosed and monitored, in very rare cases) still birth. When I had it the best practice was to induce - I was induced at 38 weeks and all was fine. I think that may have changed now (mine was a few years ago) - try not to worry as it is relatively common and the midwifes know what they’re doing. The itching is awful though so I sympathise!

I was so itchy during preganacy with my 2nd. For me it was my chest and back, would drive me
mad to the point I went and bought an extra long body brush from Boots and used it to scratch myself! I do think itchy palms means something though so good you’re getting checked out...

I was really itchy too, mostly palms and feet, it wasn't obstetric colitis in my case, just really itchy! I normally take daily antihistamines and didn't during pregnancy so that probably added to it.
