6weeks pregnant & mild bleeding

Hiya, i’m6 weeks pregnant & started mild bleeding a couple of days ago in the night, which then turned into brown stringy discharge during the day & then the same again happened this morning. The bleed this morning was darker & heavier & some small sized clots. Which turned again into brown stringy discharge. I’ve rang the midwifes & they said I’m too early on to scan so to speak to my doctor. I’ve previously miscarriaged at 10 weeks so I’m really worked up & just feel really lost with it. I don’t know what’s going on & I just wonder if anyone else has been through something similar? X

I had this on and off from 6-10 weeks I’m now 14 but I was scanned by the early pregnancy unit and 6 and 8 weeks to make sure things were okay when I called to self refer. I’d definitely recommend self referring if you can at your local hospital!

I've had similar - in 2 pregnancies it ended in early miscarriage and in 2 pregnancies continued to healthy babies.

It seems that even in healthy pregnancies I bleed from week 6 to about week 12, mainly brown as you describe. I can't remember if there were clots, it was 7+ years ago.

I've had similar in 3 pregnancies. 2 led to healthy babies and 1 didn't. The only thing you can do is wait and see. If you're still having other pregnancy symptoms of take comfort in that - it suggests you're still producing early pregnancy hormones and therefore have reason to think it's spotting.

I would self refer to your local EPU if you can. You can usually find the number via your Dr's surgery or NHS website. I rang mine and they told me to present to A&E.

I’m currently experiencing the same thing. I started bleeding a few days ago and also at 6 weeks. I called my midwife and they referred me to EPU, had a scan and they couldn’t find anything wrong so just got to keep hoping everything is ok! I have seen many people say they’ve bled in their early weeks of pregnancy and everything has been fine so just trying to stay positive! Good luck with your pregnancy x
