I’m so confused I went for scan yesterday measured 7 weeks 6 days everything was fine heartbeat was seen and baby. Now today I’ve just started bleeding I’ve wiped a few times and this is what’s coming out of me. I’ve had a misscarriage before this pregnancy so I’m worried the same is happening as last time when I miscarried it was similar to this. Can someone please explain what’s happening

Hi there, with my current pregnancy I had early scans and I spotted similarly after the 7 week follow up (where I saw he heartbeat and was let go from the EPU). It was a bit jarring but I called them back and they reassured me it can be quite normal following the internal scan- especially as I was being seen for spotting at 4 weeks anyway. Give them a call and ask them for some reassurance.

I'll add, my spotting at both 4 and 7 weeks was very similar to the start of an early MC I'd had only a couple of months prior, yet did not have the same outcome, as I'm 24 weeks now.

Statistics say most early light bleeding is in healthy pregnancies. Best thing is to try to hold on to that thought as well as that two mcs in a row is less common than one isolated one, again statistics.

I’ve had a mc myself so I completely understand the scariness Flowers

Was it an internal scan? Light bleeding is fairly common after that and it really doesn't look like a lot

I hope you don’t mind me suggesting this op but what I would do is try to step away from google right now, put on a good film and get an early night. Then call Tommy’s helpline tomorrow. They are brilliant for supporting us ladies who have had mc and I found them really helpful Flowers

Hi OP, did you have an internal scan? If so it could have irritated your cervix.
I had the same thing happen to me today, although I’m 11 & 2, I had private scan (abdominal) yesterday as was having some pains but all was fine. Then this morning there was some pink blood when I wiped. I rang the midwife and they said as I had blood and pain to come in and get checked out. Thankfully baby is absolutely fine and bouncing around in there. The doctor said it was just my cervix getting more sensitive at this time. If you have any pain or the blood gets heavier/darker I would suggest contacting your EPU. Hope all will be ok and it’s just an irritation xx

As it stands I wouldn’t really class that as “bleeding”. I know anything going on down there that feels like blood or is different is incredibly stressful but if you haven’t had any more than this then you don’t need to worry. You might find there is a tiny bit of brown discharge today. This is probably just a tiny bit of cervical irradiation.
