Bleeding in Pregnancy, looking for advice!!

Hello all :)

I’m looking for some advice from real life mummies, I can’t keep googling things as that drives me crazy.

I am 14+6 with my first baby🙈 but I have had some on and off bleeding since Friday. I was taken into hospital for some examinations & a scan to ensure all is well. Baby has a strong heartbeat, loves to move around & is measuring perfectly. The lady doing my scan thinks the bleeding could be caused from my low lying placenta, but they don’t normally look at that until the 20 week scan as there is still lots of time for it to move. (I get a reassurance scan in 2 weeks)

I had a miscarriage last year so every time I see blood I automatically think the worst which I know isn’t good for me but I’m such a worrier.

I was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation, any bleeding during pregnancy & has went on to have a healthy baby? It would be nice not to feel alone in this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance :)

You've done all the right things getting professional advice. All you can do is try not to worry too much and hope it's going to be ok Thanks

I had a bleed at 18 weeks which was caused by a low lying placenta. By 24 weeks (I was scanned every 4 weeks as I was carrying twins) it had started to move up and by 28 was clear. No further episodes of bleeding.
Try not to panic OP, low lying placentas usually move up as the uterus stretches and once that happens the bleeding will stop. They usually say to abstain from sex and vigorous exercise while it is low though. Good luck!

I’m exactly the same! I’m 17 + 3 and had to go A&E with heavy bleeding but have been reassured by scan baby is absolutely fine and has a strong heartbeat and there’s no signs of what is causing bleeding however they said it may be the placenta! Cervix was closed and like you I also had a miscarriage last year so as soon as I seen blood, I instantly thought the worst!

This morning bleeding has almost gone but still have slight cramps but just wondering how things are going for you now, did the bleeding stop? X
