Hi, I had ivf and currently 17 weeks pregnant. During my ivf it was noted that I had a short cervix. I was told at the time that If my ivf was successful they would refer my for a possible stitch. So got pregnant and spoke to the clinic about it who said tell the midwife, midwife told me to tell the hospital at 12 weeks scan, at 12 week scan they told me to tell the consultant. Spoke to the consultant who told me they will check at the 20 weeks scan not to worry ect. But now I'm sat hear having went down a rabit hole on the internet wondering if I should push to be seen sooner. Anyone any thoughts?ive never been told how short short is but started to freak myself out!!thank you

I have been checked for this as consultant lead due to just the possibility of this (had treatment on cervix from an abnormal smear) and was under the impression you should have scans every two weeks from week 16-24.
I dont Want to panic you, but I would question it if they already noticed your cervix is short! Maybe ask what length they measured it at?

I would always push to be see sooner, they normally scan lady's from 16 weeks (some sooner) for exp if lady has had letz so potential for short cervix as had some cervix removed at some point, would normally get two scans from 16 weeks. Or some lady's with know short cervix get preventive stitches after 12 weeks, had mine placed at 13+5 as was scanned at 10+5 and was short and have a history of pre term labour.
Should also be a tv scan with an empty bladder to get the most accurate results xx

Thank you. Will phone tomorrow and push to be seen sooner. If they don't do it I will pay for a private scan xx
