Hemorrhoids :(

I discovered that I have developed really painful hemorrhoids last night - the pain kept me up and was so uncomfortable. I'm 39 weeks so still potentially some time to go and wondering what you lovely women have used to help treat them (and can you make them go away before birth??)

Help me!

@SunSparkle you have sympathy, they can be really really painful, I ended up at the out of hours dr with mine in one pregnancy (I have five kids inc twins) they were very kind and gave me some super strength cream, you can put something cold there too, mine wouldn't go back in 😳 and I could barely sit down, my advice is get professional advice and don't suffer in silence

Thanks @MissSmiley! I've got the midwife on Tuesday so if I can't get relief over the weekend from something over the counter I will definitely tell her. I know they've heard and seen it all before. I'm guessing they don't ask to see them - take you on your word I bet!

When did yours go away? Can you remember the name of the cream?

I used anusol which worked for me, made me feel "safe" down there after application and less uncomfortable. I heard it doesn't work for everyone. Mine was horrible, it felt like my arse was going to explode every time I sneezed or bent over.

@SunSparkle when I went to out of hours they definitely looked, I was in so much pain I didn't care, the nurse actually gasped and said ouch that must hurt a lot!! Don't suffer over the weekend, either get your GP to prescribe something over the phone or go and see a dr at a walk in place, I think I had pessaries and cream, it helped a lot. You'll hate me but the worst ones I had were after my second baby (first vaginal delivery) and I ended up having the internal ones banded

@CoronaIsWatching I will definitely try the cream - anything to help!

@MissSmiley After I've tried the cream, I will definitely get an appointment if there is no relief. I've no dignity to lose at this point lol! Will pop to the chemist and pick up some things to try. I know they might get worse after delivery so will be good to get some treatment now so I've got it to hand afterwards as well. What we go through for these babies eh??
