Real contractions or Braxton Hicks?

Hiya.

I'm 34+2 and have been having contractions since about 3.50pm. they started off quite painless, just tightenings in my upper abdomen but they are now quite painful when I contract and go around my back.
I'm having a constant back ache as well and the bottom of my belly feels very heavy.
They are happening every 10/15 minutes and last around 40/50 seconds.
Do you think it's real contractions or Braxton Hicks? They haven't stopped when resting or drinking and don't stop when I move position etc.
Should I ring the hospital?

Thanks mummy's

Definitely call and hope they suggest going in to be monitored. Disclaimer: have no experience of Braxton Hicks as had a premature birth at 30 weeks.

Braxton hicks shouldn't have any pattern to them they tend to just be random, I suffered a lot with them In my previous pregnancy that's when I realised I was actually in labour when I timed them and realised they were gradually getting closer together. There is a specific time between your contractions that the midwife told me to wait until before ringing but I really can't remember what that is so if I was you I would give them a call!

Good luck.
