Hi Everyone I’m new here but I’ve known about this site from my mum.

I’m 22, and I think I might be pregnant, I also want a baby.

Is it completely normal to feel guilty about having a baby in the current situation we’re all in?

Please no hate, my minds all over the place already and I just want what’s best for my baby x

Yes I think so. I had a baby in 2017 a few months after the Manchester bombing and grenfell disaster. And had a baby in March 2020 as lockdown began.

Both times I was already pregnant but wouldn't have changed things anyway.
There's always awful things going on in the world but we will get through all this covid stuff (is covid your main concern?).

Hopefully by the time your baby is here covid will be gone. But sadly we can never predict the next disaster.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm sure you'll make the best of whatever situation we're all in, for you and your baby when they arrive.

It’s not so much COVID being my concern, it’s more family/friends being judgemental thinking how silly I am for getting pregnant x

@Jessiewessie I totally understand how you feel. I'm 23 and 5 weeks pregnant and even though me and my partner have been together 5 years and we're actively trying ( only took 2 months ) I feel like everyone is going to judge us for being young and not married and assume it was an accident. Also worried for being judge about getting pregnant during the pandemic

Hopefully I'm just being paranoid and everyone will be please but it has been worrying me

I think people's reactions may surprise you. They might not be expecting the news but if you're ready they'll realise it's happy news and be pleased for you.

People have always kept on having babies whatever was going on... even during both world wars. It's what living things do.

Congratulations!
