Possible miscarriage

I posted on Saturday about being confused after my early scan and the pregnancy being further behind than I thought.

Today I've had some abdominal pain and dark brown spotting. I called my Early Pregnancy Unit and have a scan booked first thing tomorrow. When I explained the timings and my symptoms (I also haven't had any pregnancy symptoms this week) she said that she had to be honest and say it wasn't looking good. She was really nice and said that it may be I have the scan tomorrow and everything is fine, but she didn't sound hopeful.

I know it sounds stupid but I just know. I'm losing my baby aren't I?

You can never know for sure without the scan so it's goof that you're going to find out. There are plenty of positive stories and I really hope you get good news but what you are describing is pretty much what happened to me with my first loss. Hoping for the best for you. You're not alone whatever happens.

Sorry you're going through this OP it's awful. I can say I've had experience of both, twice with bad outcome and once all was well. It really truly could go either way and all you can tell yourself until you know is that there isn't anything you can do to influence either outcome.

I had the scan this morning and the gestational sac and the yolk sac were still visible. The growth in the gestational sac is measuring just under a centimetre. It's funny, it was obviously just a blob on the screen but I felt so protective of it and was willing it to be ok.

They said it's just a case of waiting to see what happens in the next week. They're going to give me another scan then to check if there has been any growth. I'm still spotting but no heavy bleeding so far.

Bizarrely I feel pregnant again, but not sure if that's just psychological now that I know it's still there!
